Was Talking to my mum..

So I was Talking to my mum and I asked her why I couldnt get on hormones or bind and what not. She said since shes a body builder and people assume shes bi or les and that her kids is or acts a certain way proves she is. 

Which is really stupid, in my opinion, who cares what others think. She says she dosent, but i beg to differ.
I just dont understand why shes always contradicting herself.

I can kinda understand her, because if my kid turned out trans I'd be afraid that people would think it was my fault and that GID is crap, but that doesn't give her a right to deny you hormones

Well I feel your mom should grow up a little, but other than that do you have money to get yourself a binder?  If so you could put in on a visa giftcard, and use that to buy one online.  Or try the big brothers binder program (idk if that is the proper name for it)

IMO, the people who don't/wont get it never will get it. If they're gonna say GID is bullcrap for one reason, they're going to say it to any reason. Willful ignorance.

I agree with Andy too, you dont need her permission to bind [unless it's a 'do what i say or get out of my house' kind of issue], and depending on your country or provincial laws you can get hormones/androgens by yourself after 16 or 18.

My mum's like that too (saying she doesn't care about appearances or what people think, when she actually does a lot). IMO, it's denial. Like they say in the movie 'American Beauty': "Never underestimate the power of denial." Some people just don't like to admit things to themselves, like that they care a lot about others' opinions of them.

Give her some time. People sometimes bring dumb excuses against transition but in my case, my mum got over it after about a year.

I bought one before and used it for about 2 months before she realized and threw it away

16? really? what country would that be?

british columbia, canada.
the general consesus for medical decisions here is 16, and i think that covers testosterone. i haven't gone to my first endo appointment yet so i'll find out soon, but my friend is on androgens at 15 and his parents don't even acknowledge he's trans.

I meant denial about caring about people's opinions. But, she might also be in denial about you being trans. It's common for parents to be in denial about their kid being trans, mostly because it's such a big change from what they're used to (as in, they're used to you being a "she", and your whole life they expected you were female and would always identify as female).
