i used the mens restroom for the first time in our wal mart friday!

might not seem like much but considering how it happened. i wasn't planning on using a public restroom for who knows how long because they stress me out....well....use to teehee. i eventually, well, i just suddenly found i had to and couldn't wait til i got home or i would greatly humiliate myself in public....and i go there at least every week. this is where i surprised myself...i just thought "I'm going." or something like that, and walked over through the store, in the mens restroom, didn't pause outside of it, just walked in as if i always had forever and that was that. i couldn't freakin believe it! as painstakingly slow as I've always been with transition, i have to think about it, slowly do something, out of cowardice but with this i just decided and did it. no question or hesitation. so weird. at least now i know i can use public restrooms if i have to in the future without hesitating or freaking out about it. hell no one even saw me in there! lol what the hell was i worried about? getting seen as female and beaten or something but i guess that'd be rare? i don't know.

just saying...yay I'm a big boy!  :P sorry, Gaaaaawwwd I'm an ass.

 It's alright, I think that most of us felt the same way the first time.  Congrats, and I hope you won't have any reservations for next time.

Yes! Way to go! Funny I was just thinking this as I woke up today. Yeah, my waking thoughts were about which bathroom to use? Hahaha! But come to think of it, I've used mens rooms a few times before out of necessity and gotten away with it. Maybe I should try it more?

Congrats!

I have done it several times ... not consistently ... but every time I go back in the women's restroom I kick myself for it ... especially when I get dirty looks from the women in there.

Don't go back!  Keep moving forward!  Don't be a chicken like me.

That's so cool, well done man! The first time I went in the men's was so scary, but it gets easier and easier each time  :)

But I actually miss the ladies'! The men's stinks, you can't gossip in there and you can't do your hair in the mirror without getting funny looks (or flirty looks from some creepy old man)! Plus, why can't guys actually pee IN the toilet? It's not that difficult, it's big enough! Roll on payday so I can buy my STP!

Having said that - the fact I no longer have to wait in queues more than makes up for the rest! And every time I go in the men's, I feel very manly and good about myself  :)

Hey, we try (or some of us do) to pee straight :D, but there's dribbles, and the peril of unexpected double-stream, it's a minefield - especially for us tall blokes, it's a long way down!

There are urinals in the Netherlands that have a fake fly drawn on the side of the "target area" of the bowl; apparently since they installed those and gave the gents something to aim for, there's been a lot less splasharound.

Haha, I like the fly thing!

And yeah, I was generalising a lot! But I'm a short guy, so I guess it will be easier for me  :)

It's true, the worst thing about the gents is the smell - it still baffles me that some people feel like that's a conducive environment for getting it on :-\. Actually, the best-smelling gents I've ever used had all recycling/dry compost toilets. I don't know how it worked, but the old pee smell just wasn't there, and it was way better than the usual old-pee-and-trough-lollies smell.

It's always nerve-wracking at first, but you generally get over it quickly :)  99% of dudes won't care, and those that are stupid enough to confront you, just tell them you're a guy and move on.   ;)

Congrats man, that's a huge step, it really is. I was scared as hell the first time I went in but it gets a lot easier as you go along.

It's funny, that's part of what I like so much better about the guy's room. I always hated walking into a bathroom, seeing a small swarm of girls and feeling like the weirdo who just walked in a private conversation. That and there's no one obstructing the sinks/bathrooms in guys' rooms (at least not in my tiny little exerience).

That's because most of them don't bother to wash their hands when they are done.

thanks all :) odd but i don't remember smelling any kind of bad smell from there, except inside the stall i went in because it was JUST used, not the whole bathroom though. maybe cuz i had to go so bad and i wanted to get in and out quickly and listening to the guy poop in the stall next to me was gross. plus out of the 2 stalls only one had a latch why i had to use the one that was JUST used and reeked of crap>_< still though, i can be proud of myself for using it.

me too, weird how empty it was in the mens compared to that heh heh. plus when i still used the womens i was looked at all horrified like and women were whispering "oh my god a man just walked into the womans restroom."

it's either that or get pee and crap all over around the toilet, luckily the one i went in wasn't too bad, i don't know why genetic guys are so gross.

i don't know why genetic guys are so gross.

I had someone once ask me, "Don't they teach stagehands to wash their hands after they take a piss?"  I said: "No, they teach stagehands not to piss on their hands in the first place."

P.S.  On the whole, women's bathrooms are much messier than men's rooms are.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it is with girls and getting toilet paper everywhere...
