My place of business has been destroyed, so needless to say my upcoming HRT initial blood work appointment is almost certainly going to be pushed back... seeing how I've just joined the unemployment line.

On the bright side I am alive and I'm not homeless like countless others. Additionally I've been able to get in touch with most of my family and friends and so far so good on that front, granted some of them lost homes... which is unfortunate but at least they are still alive.

Joplin looks an absolute war zone right now, don't know what I'm going to do for money... but consider myself lucky all things considered, as there are people that have it a lot worse. Range Line which is the main commercial part of town has buildings down everywhere.... a hospital was damaged to the point of having to be evacuated and people left and right have lost their homes.

I'm Atheist... so won't directly ask for prayers, but if you feel so inclined then by all means don't hesitate to do so.

I ask that you all please keep my home town in your thoughts, this has been a tragic tragic situation.

Tiffany,
You need our prayers and your own faith in yourself to get through this.  I hope that you and your townsfolk gets through this.
My sister's mother-in-law went to high school in Joplin in the mid 30's and met her husband in college in CA.  She was one the few women at that time that graduated with a math degree.  I took her colorized graduation picture and used a scanner and Photoshop to blow it up to a decent poster size for her funeral service a few years ago.  I was also one of her pallbearers.  We were that close.  She was 92.

Hi Tiffany Marie,

I'm so glad you, your family and friends are OK. These natural disasters have been horrific this year. The they always are when they hit you. Let us know if there is anything practical we can do. I'm in Australia so a food parcel may be a waste, but I'm sure some of the USA people would be willing to help and I am more than willing to help in anyway I can.

Hugs

I saw Joplin was hit hard, and I hoped my brothers and sisters were well.  You may have lost your job, but your insurance should carry on for at least another 30 days.  You lost your job through an "Act of God".

I will light a candle on my alter for you, Sis.  Be safe.

I saw a headline on Yahoo that 89 people had died. I'm glad to know that you're alright.

Del

I'm sorry to hear about your job but glad you weren't hurt.
Hopefully there won't be too many more deaths.
Take care.

Hi Tiffany,

Glad to hear that you are okay.  It always sucks to hear about bad stuff happening to good people.  Maybe with a little luck and some hard work everyone down there will build the town back better than ever.

We were all born this way.  Don't let world stupidness to bring you down to its level.  Rise above and love yourself.   ;)

You are getting help.  Retired Broncos WR Rod Smith is coming to help.  He is an alum of Missouri Southern.  Ironically he was to be awarded by the Missouri college sports people on June 9.  He said that he may miss that ceremony to help out in Joplin.  Story: http://www.9news.com/rss/story.aspx?storyid=199823

Glad to see you are okay sis. I couldn't believe anyone survived after the footage on the TV news here today.  As Cindy said, we are a bit far away for a food parcel, but if there is anything organised from your end I will be interested.

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I'm glad that you and your family are okay, Tiffany. I saw the devastation on the news. How is the cleanup going? Has there been anything done in regards to resources? Can we do anything to help?
