Gawd damn it. Even harder for me to remember what I was doing 40 minutes ago. Well Jennifer, you've certainly flown a long way since then. All the better for you, and probably Hawkeye.

As for me, well that was more than 40 seconds ago. I've forgotten who I am.

Speak to you when I'm done plucking the chook for Sunday lunch.

Suffragette

I saw this shortly after viewing Iron Jawed Angels.  Both films addressed women's rights roughly 100 years ago in the UK and US respectively, and parallels can be drawn with the fight for LGBT rights today.

If you enjoy your right to vote, these are the people you can thank for fighting the social conservatives of yesteryear.

Sadly, womens' true equality has yet to happen.

I just saw Suffragette with my Mom on Monday. It was a powerful movie. I can now see myself in that long line of women fighting for freedom. I saw that they were fighting for me, so now I feel like I must keep that struggle moving forward.

Tomorrow, I am going to see:Freeheld, starring Julianne Moore and Ellen Page  with a group of 29 other Lesbian women, with lunch afterwards. Should be great fun.

The last movie I saw was the first Spongebob movie, lmao.

This is my first time seeing it too and it's been out for years.

I just watched Flashdance again for like the 1000th time.

I love that movie!

Just saw Terminator Genisys, wasn't one of their better ones, but definitely wasn't as bad as critics panned it (it was better than Rise of the Machines at least).  If you liked the series, you'll likely enjoy this one, and it was great to see Arnie back :)

Same! I almost cried with towards the end of the film though. It wasn't as powerful as the others for sure but it still was pretty good as a whole.

Sound of Music

Even after 50 years it still packs a punch. Probabliy a bigger punch than I knew it before.

Rating: 2 boxes of Kleenex tissues.

Highlight: This families national anthem; the song the abbess sang to Maria after she returned to the Monestry; Climb Every Mountain.

When you study the lyrics you can see how it should be our daily mantra. Believe you me, your dreams are worth it.

Go dream big. Nothing is impossible, irrespective of how much you think it is. It simply isn't.

Speak to you as soon as I empty the waste bin of wet tissues.

Last night I watched Imagine Me & You and All Over Me. These movies(and a lot of other lesbian-themed 90's-00's indie-type movies) were sooo important to me. They still are, judging by the near-breakdown I had watching these two movies last night. But wow, what an emotional release! :D

I'm Sophia, btw! Hi!! i will be posting an intro and such in a bit. I've been poking around. This is my second time on these boards. First time was in 2010 but I had to put a halt to any thought of trans anything, hahahaha. Tried to put it all behind me, but damn, it's like a dam that has cracked...another story for another day!

Hi Sophia, - welcome back :D

I watched Spring (2014) for the second time last night.  It's an unusual and much overlooked movie and well worth watching.
