I've only been on HRT for a little over a month, but I feel like I'm going to explode if I don't start living as my true self right now. All of my friends and my fiancé tell me that I look straight up like a female, but I need non-biased, honest opinions to be sure. I do realize that I need better hair/ a more convincing wig, but besides that, am I passable enough to go full-time female?

The second picture is of my right side, the side of my face that is more masculine and my biggest insecurity.
Photos didn't come through
You look beautiful, and if that is a wig it looks pretty good

Omg haha, thank you so much! :DDDDD
I think you look fine, keep in mine mannerisms, how you talk, how you interact, social skills, your own nerves, these all add up to being a woman.
In the face you look more androgynous, but your body shape doesn't pass in my opinion.
Lay off the highlighter, it makes your face look oily.

May I ask what's unpassable about my body shape? Just wondering.. I've only been on HRT for a moth, so nothing has changed regarding body shape yet.
Hi!
Looking at that last picture, I'd say even your waist/hip ratio is starting to become decidedly femme. Overall appearance looks feminine, so you may be able to pull it off.
Something other commentators need to bear in mind is the vast range of appearance of individuals in either gender. Look around at women of any given age. There is tremendous variation, from Twiggy-lean to mildly curved, out to pear-shaped. Faces have a similar tremendous range. (There is a woman who has been complaining in the news about transgender folks, and lesbians in tennis. The first time I saw a photo of her I thought "She doesn't pass. FFS could do her a world of good.")
Attitude, movement, and posture count at least as much as physical appearance, though, so keep that in mind. 'Passing' in the real world isn't about just how one looks in a photo. I do homework on passing every day, sitting at a coffee shop outdoor table in the local shopping district and watching people for an hour. I'm studying presentation, posture, movement, and dress. I model my wardrobe afte what I consider attractive women about my age that I see. (No sweatpants, or tights/yoga pant and sweatshirt look for me, thankyouverymuch!)
I'd say your physical appearance and age gives you a real flying start, and I bet you could pull it off.

Very good information and very true, I definitely plan on studying and mastering the overall mannerisms of a female before going full-time. Thank you for the insight!

its how your stomach is shaped, plus you don't have much hips so it just goes straight down.

Yea, I haven't lost my belly fat yet or had any fat distribution to my hips yet, again, it's been a month :) Won't be wearing crop tops 24/7, and not all females have an hourglass figure, that's a crappy society standard :) doesn't have much to do with passing :)
I think you look great, and would say that passing for you (as others have said) would come down more to other aspects....walk, demeanor, mannerisms, confidence etc. Have fun with it.
IMHO Passing happens between the ears or not at all. You don't pass until you think you do no matter what anyone tells you. I see thread after thread from beautiful girls asking if they pass....
When you ask the question what is it you are asking? Passing for me may mean a different thing for you...there are various forms of passing from over the phone to a Dr's office. Where is it you want to be?
Many of these threads involve gorgeous girls who just can't see it or have a small imperfection that they feel ruins every chance they ever had to pass. However there are also people here who are convinced they don't just pass but are glamourous...not how I would describe them. So when I say passing happens between the ears what I mean is that you have to have a certain amount of self acceptance in the first place. When you are satisfied you have decided you pass then you will ....
I can only see one picture, but it looks like you pass to me.
You look beautiful and with a petite build. I definitely think passable!
Girl don't worry about it. You look great. laCava is just jealous!

Little Witch Girl, you look hott. You are very lucky - I'll be spending a lot more on FFS you might completely skip. :-)
If you have started HRT at your age, I bet your hair will be exactly the way you want longer term - no worries. Find a wig style that works (looks like you already have), then grow your hair out to match it.
Ok this thread is now open for business once again. May I remind all members that if you feel you have an issue around a post or are being attacked then please report it to the moderators and we will get to it.

"Haven't lost my belly fat yet" ha ;) I wish I had your belly fat problem girl! Talk to us when you're middle age and have 30-40 pounds on your belly that is hard to loose. Lol.
You have nothing to worry about. You look great. You only need time and the hormones will do the rest.
One thing about pictures, you can hide a lot with angles and lighting. My initial reaction was "wow, cute. Definitely passing." I still believe that. But due a truer picture, take a few straight on from the bust up.
That will show a better view of nose and eyes.
BTW, IMHO, you pass way better than I do and I'm full time. I've learned to accept being mis-gendered as it happens about 25% of the time. (35% gendered correctly, 40% not gendered at all)

I think you Look stunningly beautiful.
This going to be an honest opinion.
I don't mean to be horrible, but in my.opinion you are not totally passable even though.you have a lovely bone structure. Hopefully hrt will be able to feminisegive your features more softness and feminisation.
Good luck!

As I've said before, you can't tell much from a picture. Most of the photos you post "pass" on a cursory glance. Do you pass? I have no idea, I'd have to meet you and speak with you, watch your movements, behavior, mannerisms and a thousand other nuanced little things. These "do I pass" threads are rather useless for just that reason. Little can be told from a pic. I've seen plenty of pics of people I was sure were women till I saw an candid shot that revealed there was little feminine about the person.
Well, I have a pretty discerning eye for feminine beauty and I see a strikingly beautiful young woman in those photos. I'd love to wake up tomorrow and look just like you. Do work on the hair thing. Wig quality is often at the bottom of the TG priority list and I think it should be close to the top. Finding a good wig can be expensive and take some repeat purchases, so the soon the better. And certainly if you have enough hair, grow it out and do something with it. Many women wear topper pieces and extensions to fill sparse hair and succeed amazingly well with them. I sometimes wear a halo loop extension and can completely forget it's there after awhile. The most important thing is the front hairline, of course. And it's hard to find a wig that manages the temple area realistically-- even with the most expensive lines. You just have to keep shopping around.

Can I just ask what's not feminized enough yet? Just so I know and can keep an eye on those features? Thanks for the honest input.

Hey girl.
A little patience will help you. HRT will not work overnight. I agree you got great passing potential and I definitely see femininity in your pics. However, changes will take time so it's normal if you're not *completely passable* at this moment. But with time and HRT, I think not only will you pass but also look very beautiful. So, be patient and kind to yourself.
Hrt will redistribute fat around your face making your cheeks fuller and skin softer.

I accept myself just fine. I have a long-term--four years!!--Boyfriend who loves me, my doctor forgets my status and asks about periods, I have never not passed for over three years and started passing within 60 days. But, yet, sometimes I think I don't pass.
I do believe confidence and acceptance goes a long way. But, I have a 34C-27-35, I'm 5'5 and 130 lbs, and I'm cute, rapidly approaching pretty. My voice, bleh, but still if I have to pass as my non name-changed self, they always ask for me. I have to deepen my voice and it still doesn't work, meaning I pass.
The OP and everyone else should realize transition takes years. I get hit on all the time or it feels that way and if I look a guy in they eyes, he always, always says "hi." But, it's hard to see yourself. Its not about acceptance so much that it's hard to live 20, 30 years in a body and then really see these changes. Also, my body really filled out in the last 100 months. So, any worries the OP has about passing and body, time will fix it.
My sitch my be a little non-reg since I had trouble passing as a boy before transition. IMO, the OP will pass just fine. With the right hair, she could pass right now and could easily go full-time. But, it's a drastic change so I would take baby steps. It sounds great but what if you get clocked by some troglodyte and he goes full Trump and tweets the "->-bleeped-<-" he clocked; to make matters worse, he was your best friend.
I may never get clocked and may have an awesome BF (future hubby?! +fingers crossed+) but I lost every friend and the ones who wanted to hang with me after were all people who just wanted to see "it." It meaning my drastic transition. It was drastic and I still can't believe HRT worked that way. The one thing I do know is that I tried to go full-time before I was ready, I may have ran back into the closet only to emerge 40 years later when I hit 70. I'm sure a lot of older trans peeps would have transitioned earlier but times were different. But rememer: they aint great now either. But you will pass, just do it when you know your ready. Also, even though I dissected the post I quoted, she had a lot of very excellent advice.

Can't thank you enough for the in-depth answer and advice, it helped clear things up for me a lot and I appreciate it! I think you're definitely right that I need to start going full-time when I'm ready, which might not be just yet, I definitely have some studying of female mannerisms and mastering of all that stuff to do first. Thank you!!
I think you look great already.
I consider myself pretty good at detecting trans people, but I think that you would pass 99% of the time. Particularly with a dress. I doubt many, if any people would give you that stare!

Hi. I really studied your pictures and I read everyone's critiques. Everyone has a different idea of passability and beauty. In my opinion you look great. I think you are passable and very pretty. When I look at how passable a girl is I study her face and try to picture her as a boy. Looking at your picture I couldn't see any boy in you. The only thing I suggest is a better wig. I'm not saying your wig is like bad or anything. But I would clock it as a wig. But I cut hair so that's just me. What's your real hair like? Is it like really short or something? Anyway I think you look great. And after longer on estrogen you're going to look even better.

Well thank you! I'm glad to hear. I definitely need a new, more realistic wig for sure. My real hair right now could be pulled off as female with pixie cut, I just personally don't like that look and have always wanted long hair, so until it's long enough, wig it is :/

You may have to get a pixie until you can grow your hair out which takes foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I have had one hair cut with some trims done by yours truly and my hair is two inches past my shoulders. This is three and a half years. The one hair cut prolly took three inches off. So, that set me back. Now, I can put it up in a really nice bun and it keeps the hair off my face. I have a very round face with no brow bossing, so I don't have bangs. Though, I am thinking of getting it styled soon. Just an FYI. I have never been a wig person; plus, unless you spend $500 or so, you prolly won't get a great wig. I don't really know though, so take that figure with two grains of sulk. JK salt

When you are trying to grow out your hair keep the ends trimmed. Once your ends split and fray the keep splitting. There is no use having long hair if its frayed and nappy. Human hair wigs are totally expensive. One of my clients had cancer and she used her own hair to make a wig . It cost her $600.00 and that was with using her own hair.
You're absolutely beautiful. Passing is a state of mind and more dependent on your own attitude than external people. Your hair will grow and a pixie could certainly work until then in my opinion, but if you don't like that option, go for a wig. Congrats on becoming your genuine self.
Don't make a decision like full time be based on passing. That's an internal decision based on being who you are. I've seen girls on hormones for 10 + years who do not pass . Some who pass before hormones . You be you.

Agree that it's more about how you view and carry yourself. Women come in all shapes and sizes. You do you and walk the walk with confidence and you'll fit in more every day. It's about the journey.

Hi Natg813
Welcome to Susan's. I hope you enjoy your time here.
I agree with you entirely...passing is first accomplished internally, you can physically pass by any number of standards but until you accept this is the case it doesn't matter how good you look in the eyes of others.
So you are able to get the very best from being here there are a couple of links we give to all our new members
