So, the video taken by a jet fighter 3 years ago was recently released and again shows what appears to be evidence of a UFO.
And ironically, while Project Bluebook was closed by in either the late 60's or early 70's, it appears the military had a secret UFO study going on until 2012.
The question now is, are the sightings of a secret government program or of honest to goodness real UFOs?
What do you think?

@ Cassie: I think that many UFO sightings particularly in the Southwestern USA might be attributed to the USA developing "out of this world craft. Look what happened when in the mid 80's, the new rumored spy plane, the Aurora did it's rumored test flights with it's weird and unique sound and visual atmospheric aberrations.
While we certainly can not trust our government to tell us the truth about UFOs.... the truth always eventually comes out. For example... in infamous Area 51 base that the government said did not exist... with many UFO enthusiasts that have camped out near where Area 51 is located and reported what they saw and the comings and goings, it is now a public fact that Area 51 exists and has all kinds of secret and strange goings-on happening there including suspected UFO activities.... the fictional movie "Independence Day" did a good job of revealing those kinds of possible activities.
Also with Google Earth and other Satellite imagery available to the general public, aerial views of Area 51 at Grooms Lake in Nevada, not far from Las Vegas, can be now very clearly be seen along with runways, aircraft, buildings, fake buildings, vehicles, etc..
Danielle
Good point. Look at the SR-71, around since 1964 (older and longer than you my pretty :) And the B-2 since 1989, almost 30 years ago.
I don't think we're alone and most likely inter-dimensional travel would probably be the most efficient way of traveling; say into the crack here, exit elsewhere - gives me the hebbie-jeebies just thinking of it.
BTW, when I first planned on leaving California it was to move to Henderson NV but I got side-tracked to Texas for 4 years. Now in Vegas because the aliens told me to.

Cassi: As you probably already know there are suspected and documented frequent charter jet flights leaving McCarran International Airport in Vegas for destination undisclosed... suspected to be ferrying workers and employees to and from Area 51. ahhhh... you don't secretly work for the government at Area 51, do you? I know, if you told me you would have to kill me.... so do not tell me.

If it's on Fox, it's Faux news. ;)
I really don't care to get too deep into this subject. But I will interject a small bit here.
I have seen UFOs twice in my life. One time I was with friends and we watched a very large bell-shaped object hover completely stationary in the sky for 20 minutes. We guessed it was at least ten miles away. It displayed very obvious intelligent control (pulsing lights, etc.). It was pure (very bright) white in its illumination (it was late night). Over the years I have become a bit of an armchair expert on the subject. The clear conclusion (in my limited understanding) is that these entities are interdimensional. They travel between realities (ours and theirs). They have been here for millennia. They are studying and controlling a segment of humanity. The more I study, the more frightening it gets.

I can understand that. And the rumors about the La Croix NM place would definitely be scary if true. Just personally can't believe that we are the only intelligent creatures in the universe.
But I have toyed with the idea that "possibly" we could view ourselves as small and our universe an atom?

I also doubt we're the only intelligent life in the universe, though I sometime question whether we have it here. ;)
However, given the immense size of the known universe, and the limitations imposed by the speed of light, let alone technology, how likely is it we've been visited? Based on what we've observed, it unlikely there's intelligent life within our solar system, though I wouldn't rule out microbial life. That means any aliens would have to come from elsewhere and the nearest star is a few light years away. It would take significantly better tech than what we have.
Also, if aliens did arrive here, Trump would likely lock them up! ;)

Beware of orange men with tiny hands!
Seriously, when I was living in the mountains of California, I had a bird's eye view of Sacramento. One night the city lights were blocked from reflecting off the clouds by something at least the size of the city. I watched, as whatever it was passed over the city. If the government has anything that big that flies, where would they hide it?
What the hell intelligent life form would want to visit this planet.
The numbers say it's unlikely we're alone. It just seems really implausible that a civilization advanced enough to get here would then crash, be trailed by our own machines that can't even leave the atmosphere, and engage in a huge game of cat and mouse with us.
Just my thoughts.

Also, we could be the first, or the last. With the time scale involved, civilizations might not overlap.

There is a YouTube series called Science & Futurism with Isaac Arthur (by Isaac Arthur on his self titled channel). He has quite a few on the Fermi Paradox and it's solutions. Highly recommend.

If you have noticed, over the past few years the acceptance of life elsewhere has become greater, especially by the government, church, and academia.
I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that the SR-71 has been around since 1964 and the Robinsons only had the Jupiter II :)

I thought contact was pretty boring. I wanted to see the aliens destroy cities and exterminate people. Everyone knows the only reasons aliens would come here ate to eat us, enslave us or exterminate us. The idea aliens would come and be friendly and want to help us is totally far fetched. Now war of the worlds was a cool movie even though I can't stand Tom Cruise. I kept hoping somehow that he would be evaporated by a heat ray but no such luck.😟

I saw soap on a rope (at least what you can see of a aircraft traveling multiple mach numbers at around 100,000 feet) and I knew what it was. The unidentified sighting was when I was on a scout camping trip many years ago. Laying under the sky at night, I saw an object moving across the night sky. By then they had Echo 1 up there so objects in orbit were known. The problem with this one was it was making right angle turns as it moved across the sky making kind of a square wave pattern like you would see on an oscilloscope. Still today I can't think of anything that can change directions that fast at that distance but I know what I saw. Unidentified, yes but what was it? I haven't a clue. By the way, I wasn't the only one who saw it and another scout pointed it out to us.

Cool story Big Sis. I was in the scouts also, Eagle, as a matter of fact.
Anyway, at Summer Camp in the San Bernardino mountains back in the 60s it seemed everything was much clearer up there, especially at night. We use to be able to identify Spunik as it passed by, you could actually see it without optical assistance. Nowadays, I don't or can't even see the North Star :)

Hi Cassi! I lived in a canyon in the SF Bay Area in the 70's. I personally saw a ball of bright arc white light traveling with the contour of the land. I was silent and fast. I mentioned it to a friend later and he said he saw the same thing come out of the canyon and continued over the bay then strait up. The next day the Oakland Tribune reported the same object over the Central Valley.

It was weird for me. For some reason the entire family went out to the backyard and saw what seemed like a white light traveling across the sky, then it turned and became bigger and bigger. I think I was 8 and it scared the C out of me and I went and hid under the bed (alot of good that would have done). But the image and memory remains though everyone I talked to about, aside from you now, as no recollection.

I also do not like to watch Tom Cruise movies... especially did not like the Mission Impossible movies at all.... too many fake special effects and improbably stunt scenes where he actually survives. The one possible exception is the 2013 movie
Oblivion ... pretty good story line and he did a good acting job in that one.

:( - I like your other avatar picture - makes me feel like Christmas for some reason!
The Arrival was good. I think there was a second one too.
I've always enjoyed SyFy, Fantasy, and even HallMark though I use to be the last one to admit it.
Star Trek goes way back to the high school days. I had bought a cheap black and white tv and watched the first aired episodes of Star Trek on it - I'm old as dirt so to speak.
During my college days, I was taking a couple of Telecourses which aired on PBS. For some reason I had missed the class presentation but there was a tv show from the BBC about some curly haired guy in a Police Box (Tom Baker - Doctor Who). I kinda got into it and then it went away.
A few years later, I was channel zapping and again there was that big blue Police Box that looked exactly like the one I had seen with Tom Baker but none of the actors were the same. That was Jon Pertwee, lol. Thus began my Doctor Who courtship, lol.
I too am not a big fan of Tom Cruise. Wasn't a big fan of the Tom Cruise War of the Worlds movie. And was a little disappointed with Keanu Reeves Day the Earth Stood still - Michael Rainie was the man.

Many years ago, I'd come home from school and watch the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials on the afternoon kid's TV shows. One thing I though was curious was the exhaust from the rockets. The smoke went up, but the sparks fell down. :D
Both those serials used to be played in movie theatres, way back in the dark ages before television.
Back in those days, I also used to watch supermarionation shows such as Supercar and Fireball XL5, when I got home from school.

Even though it was kind of corny I loved to watch Buck Rogers too.

Again, it was a little corny (perhaps a lot corny) but I watched it whenever it was on.

No, when that Buck Rogers in the 25th century was on, I was already out working and supporting myself. The series I watched were the ones shown in movie theatres back in the 1930s. In those days, when you went to the movies, you'd not only get one or two features, but also newsreels, cartoons and more. Serials such as Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon and westerns with Roy Rogers or Gene Autry were common fare. As I mentioned, this was before television and movies were a main source of entertainment.
By the time I got around to watching those shows, they were a staple on kid's TV, either after school or on Saturday mornings.

@ AnneK: I guess that you must be a little older than I am. I don't remember anything in the movie theaters like you mentioned... two features, cartoons... and newsreels?
I am 38 years old and I was referencing the newer televison series... the local channel was running the re-runs of the show every afternoon.

Gotta remember, Appy is a baby compared to us oldies but moldies.
Anyway, almost since the inception of movie theaters and into the mid-late 50's, they would have what they called movie serials or cliffhangers. Buck Rogers, Captain Marvel, Flash Gordon, etc. They would show 15-20 minute segments and at the end of each segment our heroes would be left hanging in a dangerous situation until the next week's installment. Of course, what happened seemed to be completely changed - https://www.oldies.com/collection-view/Serial-Movies.html
I personally have I think 200 of these in my collection.

I'm not old enough to remember when those serials were in the theatres, but I do remember double features. Newsreels had pretty much died out, by the time I started going to the movies. If you get a chance, watch the really old Bugs Bunny and other cartoons. They were clearly aimed at adult audiences, with lines beyond the understanding of children. Later versions of those shows are pale, watered down versions intended for kids.

Appy, AnneK and I are both old enough to be your mothers :)
They use to show these old cliffhangers on TV, usually together and edited as movies. A few others were Bomba the Jungle Boy, Tarzan, and Jungle Jim :)

I used to watch the Superman TV series, from back in the '50s. But even then, it was in reruns, as the series started before I was born.

I had a crush on the female lead.... Erin Gray :icon_rolleyes2:
Erin Gray was HOT in her spacesuit.

I also watched those, other than Land of the Giants, along with Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. I suppose those here on Spriro can relate to this Star Trek episode. ;)

That's a good one. Now how about the one where the woman trades bodies with Kirk?

Oh. Sorry. I get them mixed up.
Tried to post a short YouTube video of "Forbidden Planet" but will not post. One of my favorites.
Anyway, will try again here:

A lot of those early '60s SciFi shows, particularly from Irwin Allen, were really cheesy. ;)
I also watched The Invaders.

You need to copy the address from the address window. If you click on the video, it splits youtu.be which doesn't work :)

I'm most likely going to sound nutz but have all these shows. The Prisoner, Avengers, etc.
In retrospect compared to today's standards and advancements they're all cheesy but enjoyed them.
