Hi there.  My name Emily and I am a 26 year old transsexual in early transition.  I have been on hrt for about four months and it feels great.  I am still a little confused and scarred at times but I am starting to feel better about my where I am in my life.

I have come out to my family, and plan to come at work soon.  My employer is a TS friendly so I am sure that this will not be a problem.

I am very shy and I feel lonely a lot.  Other than family I do not have any real friends.  So far my only connection with the trans community has been online and thats just not the same.  Online forums just aren't my medium.

I think thats enough for my introduction.  I might post a little more about myself latter but. . .

Welcome to Susan's Emily,

I was very shy when first coming out and starting hrt. I find comfort in this online forum, but also needed to meet others like me. I found a group therapy session that meets bi-weekly so I could make real time friends, maybe there is one in your area.

Nice to meet you Emily, even if only on-line. ;)

Hugs,

Rhonda

Welcome, Emily!

I'd like to second rhondabythebay in suggesting you find a support group.  I drive 1½ hours each way to get to mine (I live in a small city with absolutely NO TS services) and it's very much worth it for me.  It took a couple trips before I began to feel comfortable, I went en homme the first time, and now I'm a regular and have made some great friends.  My therapist pointed me towards the group.  Maybe yours can do the same?

And if that's impossible, just come here to Susan's!  We live to help and support each other through our difficult times and come to enjoy each other's good times too.  I'm happy to make your acquaintance, Emily, and I hope we'll get to know each other a little better real soon.

Again, WELCOME ! ! :)

hugs & smiles

Thanks everyone for you wellcome.

There is a transgender support group in my town but lately it has not been meeting due to a lack of a leader.  The women who does this has been too busy with her work to do anything so there has been no meeting this year.  I am not sure what the next nearest group would be but I think it would be too far for me.  Maybe I will just have to volunter to run it myself.  This in not something I would have concidered doing a year ago but then I am doing a lot of things I would never have done a year ago.

Hello,

You ought to volunteer to run it if it will not run otherwise...I've had some good times volunteering to run stuff. Just meet up with the old lady for a bit for some pointers and you could find yourself something fun do to and helping your local community, keeping them nasty transgender types off the streets. And welcome to this little global support group...hope it supports.
