I'm 5 weeks post op and I see most people talking about vaginal depth but what about vaginal diameter? I can dilate an 1 inch diameter dilator and get it to 5 inches of depth which sounds acceptable. If I try with 1.2 inches diameter I can only get it to a depth of 3 inches and then it seems painful (and scary) to go further. My surgeon says that it will get better cause there is still lots of swelling.

I have no idea what is "standard" as the docs all do it differently and we all start out with different anatomies... but for comparison, I had srs in early august with suporn in thailand.... out of the box, the dilation was easiest, getting harder as sensitivity returns and scar tissues try to contract, for the first 3 months. I'm just at the tail end of that period, going fine without pain killers, just a little wincing. :)

Anyway, I use a medium (1.26 inch diameter) for depth (about 6.3 inches), then the larger one (1.34 inches), which goes about 5.5 inches. Lubelubelube and go slow if you have to. Nothing tenses things up quicker than trying to rush....
Blessings,

Well, I have to admit it took me about 5 months to raise the courage to move up to my big one, which is 1 1/4". But I have been using it ever since. I am blessed to have eight inches of depth, but I still have to delicately work the plastic monster in on certain days, then other days it is not too difficult.

I'm 5 months post-OP and had the same problem. I can get the 1.2 inch dilator in but it's like you said - after 3 inches I need to push very slow and carefully. It feels if there is a scar or something else inside which is narrowing the neovagina.

I'm gonna see my surgeon again in 10 days. Will ask for it.

The human penis range between 5 and 6 inches in length, and between 1 and 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
