I'm wasting some time this morning thinking of a few things I'd like to do immediately after coming out to my family after Christmas.  Just wondering what sort of things you did as a "gift to yourself" after all the pressure of coming out was let off.  And if anyone is in a closeted situation like I am, I'd like to hear your list also.   :D

My list is small.

1. Professional ear piercing.  No more needles and ice cubes.

2. Buy some makeup that fits my age and lifestyle.

3. Get a proper wig, but first make sure I see stylist who can help with the wig and my natural hair.

4. Use something other than clear and opaque polish on my nails.  I like pink tones, but I don't think pink likes me.

5. Buy new jeans.  I haven't been shopping for pants and jeans because I'm loosing weight and I'm going to be changing what I wear.  So all my Levi's are falling apart and too loose.

I am assuming, coming out after family as the checkpoint. I still don't have pierced ears, or even a nail polish.

  • Bought some beard concealer.
  • Started going out in public, being myself. Well, now almost living fulltime.
  • Signed up for laser hair removal for face.
  • I guess some new clothes too.
Honestly coming out to parents was very hard. They still have not approved me to start HRT, I am starting any way.
But overall everything seems nicer all of a sudden.

I cant give you a list since I told my family soon after I made the decision. Personally though the first thing that I did was start building my collection of clothes. I only had one outfit at the time and I suddenly felt the need to start shopping. the first thing that I bought was a long black skirt. I love the feeling and sight of it swishing around as I dance.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I cried the tears of pain and joy, I don't know how others handle the beginning of the path of truth. I never really experienced extatic moments of pure joy, however, I felt at peace to finality of deceit and secrecy. Price was so immense in lost love, that to feel absolute happiness was rather impossible. I have slowly morphed into the situation at hand, though pain is still present especially when those who felt betrayed by my actions, still press on with hate and prejudice

I didn't treat myself to any stuff, but the main things I did for myself and have done since are to genuinely relax and drop my guard in conversation.

I can talk to someone who knows my story at least five times more (about any topic, not just trans) than to someone whom its hidden from.

1.) Started Laser on my entire body
2.) Started HRT
3.) Bought a proper wig
4.) Bought make up and clothes
5.) Go out as me every opportunity I get a chance too! :)
6.) Bought the Coach purse that I've ALWAYS had my eye on.

Buying clothes have been since the beginning. Its a addiction to me. lol
