This makes me happy



       

This happened just before Halloween.

My wife, her best friend, and I went to a friends Halloween party (theme: Zombie Apocalypse). Instead of dressing to the theme, I just went as myself. I was nervous at first when we left the best  friends apartment to go to the party, but once we were out of the house, I instantly relaxed. I was out. I felt so FREE!

I honestly don't know why I waited so long to get out of the house. Fear, I guess. But that barrier was broken and now I just want to go dressed everywhere. I want to go full time, but I still need laser/electro, HRT, etc. before I'm comfortable doing that.

Still, it was a good day.

Thanks Shan, I may clean up pretty good but I am soooooo done with shaving all the darn time!  Also I just love saying "lasers and estrogen"

Todays happy:

Just got done with a very long and awesome skype conversation with my oldest friend from back in the UK.  We only talk every few months so this was when i got to break the news to him.  He was, as expected unsurprised and completely supportive.  In fact he decided that it had been way to long since we last saw each other and booked a flight to come visit right there and then!  Hooray

OMG...someone jealous of me?  I always thought, "That'll be the day"   Thanx!!! 

I got a lot of writing done, which makes me feel pretty good about myself.

Got a chance to talk with my Dad. We haven't talked in awhile, so it was nice to catch up with him.

I've used tumblr primarily for trans stuff...and a few things for entertainment. But a lot of trans stuff. And I didn't realize how negatively all the...crap...was affecting me until I made the conscious decision to unfollow anything trans-related, even the people I agree with.

Honestly I just felt a huge release as I clicked all the "unfollow" buttons, and now I have a dash full of stuff that will only make me laugh instead of angry/sad/dysphoric.

Gotta do what you gotta do.

On tuesday, some people and I had a small vigil for TDoR. I was amazed by the support including a reporter from the newspaper who wanted to write a trans positive article for us. (This was amazing in part because the planning was basically "The nearest place that's doing something for TDoR is in Nova Scotia." "We should do something." "Let's meet for coffee and have a vigil.")
I met another trans guy who seems pretty cool. I found out that there are trans people at my university (although they didn't show up for the vigil). I also got to see a really cool and supportive guy who I really like.
I got all inspired.

Today was day #7 of an incredible, magical week of fairy-tale transformation, great company, and good eats. Yay, life! Keep this up and you'll spoil me rotten. Do.

Taking part in the TasPride Parade with my girlfriend who came down from Launceston for the weekend, and having no misunderstandings introducing her as my girlfriend. 

I passed today. I never pass. I wonder if the girl who said "Lettuce and tomatoes, sir?" realized that she made me the happiest I've felt in about two weeks.

Day 8. Today I was one of four ladies giving emotional and fashion support to my future niece-in-law as she tried on designer wedding dresses in a chic boutique downtown. It was so fun. Amazing how natural it felt, and how much my opinion was valued! Afterward we met my nephew and his dad and had a wonderful tandoori lunch at Portland's best Indian restaurant. The extra spicy was just right.
My sister and the rest of my family's Female Q Continuum (of which I am now a part) are making arrangements for me to be in Colorado for the wedding next year - my attendance apparently is NOT optional. I gave and collected hugs from seven people who love me today. One of my nieces pulled me aside and said, "Maddie, I sooo love that we are seeing more of you now. Please don't stop!!!" At another point, we were talking about my transition, and both agreed how ironic it is that the most female-dominant brain in the entire extended family is mine.
I LOVE GIRL STUFF.
By the way, the waiter was a HUNK. When I think about it, HE was flirting with me! Heehee.

So special to be loved and accepted like that Maddie, what a nice family!

I made it back to my apartment!  I'm blissfully alone in here!

I'm happy and it seems like I've been accepted by the Aussie ladies mafia here and they even want brand me.
