I'm laying in a bed next to my something like girlfriend, talking and she said transsexuality is curable if person want, not like a gay/bi which is natural thing.

I bet that was an interesting bed time discussion

The only reason I could see her point is if she meant that, through hormones, surgery and a crapton of other little things that encompass transition, a person is "cured".

Because, quite frankly, once I am fully transitioned, I have a strange feeling I will no longer feel like a trans*guy, just a guy.


But I like to play devil's advocate and have only slept 1 hour in the last 20
..and tweaked my back and took a pain killer...

Maybe ask her what she means by that, possibly she doesn't really understand

I would be reconsidering her "girlfriend" status.

The most ignorant always seem to think they have the right answers and explanations. Have you read her thesis on the subject? Maybe it can be peer reviewed. You don't need her, sorry.

But I was more suggesting she wants to change what is most fundimental.

During the Senate Hearings for Maryand SB212, Trans Rights, bill I had the opportunity to hear testamony from several so called "cured" TSs. If you want a life filled with anger and hate, more so then you lived already to only find true joy and happiness in your current role, then yes, by all means you can be cured. If that is the cure then kill me now. I don't ever want to be that type of person.

BTW this cure is also the same one used to cure gayness. So you tell her being gay is also curable by those same standards.

Maybe she truely feels your pain and is offering some insight into other possible avenues of exploration besides transition. Or, perhaps, she may not accept that you are trans. Perhaps, as many in the gay community feel, you just aren't able to accept that you are gay or bi. 

There is only one way to know for sure her motivation and that is to ask.

Back to the matter at hand, I have to agree with the others, I could not be with somebody who had those views =/ You'll definitely need to have a talk, see if you can enlighten her
