That's such a beautiful movie. I think of it, in an odd way, as American Beauty, the Guadalcanal version. (Or perhaps it's the other way around.) It got trampled by Private Ryan, which is sad, because it's such a different movie. Thin Red Line and American Beauty are, to me, about the beauty of life despite or even because of the ugliness. Anyway, I just loved Thin Red Line. I wasn't so much moved to tears as moved beyond tears.

I'm glad it's not just me.  I went to the theater to see it by myself when I was in high school.  It was SO BEAUTIFUL.  I hate that it was so overshadowed by Private Ryan.  A lot of people missed out on a great movie, I think.

To begin with, I usually do not cry because of a touching movie. Usually. But there are some movies that almost made me cry.
Today I watched Soldier's girl and at the end, when she is performing while Barry is murdered I sat in front of my notebook and had to swallow very hard...

Oh god. I have to constantly fight myself from crying during sad movies! I try to avoid them, but sometimes they slip past my radar... one of my favorites was kitchen stories.. found it on netflix and boy was it good. I'm still avoiding when the wind blows, the description of that one gets me all teary eyed. I know this is about movies, but I wanted to throw in some sad tv episodes, too. Hope it's no biggie. The ds9 episode, the visitor.... omg.  ... t'pol and tripps relationship in enterprise always gets me too. aghh. And the last episode of ds9, with Odo and Kira... so freakin' sad.

Ikiru, Mrs Doubtfire, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Brokeback Mountain, Dodeskaden, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, and The Neverending Story. There are probably others.

I Am Legend. The scene with the dog. I can't watch that movie anymore because of that scene. It made me cry uncontrollably for half an hour at least.

Anything with an animal dying, getting lost, or being rescued. I'm a sucker for that kinda stuff. 

I'm going to go with the most recent film I seen that made me cry and that was "The Odd Life of Timothy Green". I didn't blubber or anything but I shed a few tears.

All of them. Yes I'm serious. I either start crying cause it's sad or I start crying cause it's happy or I start crying because music gets me going. Hope E doesn't make me worse.

The movie I cry at every time I fricken watch it is Armageddon, every time I cry, I have even tried not to but I do every time without fail  its such an old movie but great at the same time

I'm trying to remember the last movie that didn't make me cry at least once.  I am a baby.  Yep.

Oh my.... The entire Christian Bale Batman series. Why must his voice be so hideous?
