Heyyyyy sooo there's a few different things that are gonna go on in this post. It will be jumbled up.

I am a guy that took a long time to grow any facial hair. At two years, my face fuzz is still thin. I usually let my sideburns grow out and shave the rest. It started looking a little gross somewhat recently so I thought a trim was in order. Usually I use a beard trimmer but it's been acting wonkie so I just used a regular head hair clippers. Trimmed my entire face with a #1 when I usually do a lot less cutting. I'm curious as to if I still have enough to get read as male. Granted, I was still misgendered a fair amount without trimming my sideburns.

Also, is anybody like my situation? On T for around 2 years but not getting substantial facial hair?

I still think it's enough where you can see it but I really just don't know! Aaaand what amount of facial hair do you feel is best for yourselves?

I definitely read you as more male in the first photo.
Baring in mind, I think it's because of the color...
The black and white makes your lips paler, and obviously, it doesn't look like you're wearing pink ^^;
Personally, I like the look of the facial hair on you ^-^
I think that it suits you well.

And I don't seem to have much of an issue growing facial hair myself,
Just over a year on T myself (After an eight month break thanks to no money)
And mine does seem a but thicker, though still quite patchy *Nod* I'm still waiting xD

From the pics you definitely pass man! Although i do like the top one better. I agree with gentleman on the color. I'm not sure how your mannerisms are maybe thats what's causing it? I'm jot in the same boat as you yet, only 4 months on T here, but my facial hair is very slow as well. Barely any Stache hair yet. Doesn't help that we have light hair either haha. I've always wanted a beard, but I have no clue what would look good with my face ya know?

Yea, I didn't even have that at one year.

This was after not shaving for a long time.

My husband (cis-male) doesn't get much facial hair either, I think it's just genetics in some guys that determine if you'll be hairy or not.

I think you might look good with sideburns that were grown out to the same length as your hair and to the bottom of your ears or slightly longer. When I had issues with facial hair I'd keep the sideburns and let the other grow out a bit stubbly. People tend to think "male" when they see stubble.

Maybe the more hair the better while you're still struggling to pass consistently. I'm biased though - I've been on T a year and I can feel a lot of stubble but it grows in mostly blond or red so I'm frustrated.

You look great, strong pass to me in both pics - I like the trimmed look more though

Id say you pass better as male in your first picture, like others have said.

And if it helps, Im at, I think 40months on T, and what it looks like you grow on your chin, is what I can get on my chin, but other than that, I literally cant grow even one hair anywhere else. It is really frustrating, as its the only thing that T can bring, that it hasnt. I feel my levels are low, they tend to come out around 12-15 nmol/l, and when Ive looked this up (as I dont really understand it all), it seems to suggest that is low, but the woman I see at the gender clinic says that it is "satisfactory" so no changes need to be made.
But, anyway, Im also in the same boat of not being able to grow the amount of facial hair you both want, and feel you should be able to get. :/

Just watch Survivor and you can see how variable men's facial hair is when they don't shave for a month.  Some grow full beards/staches, others don't.  And look what Malcolm from this season grew.  It was as if he trimmed it into a style, but clearly had not.

Nygeel,
You look more male in the first pic but you pass in both. I don't see how people can read you as female when you have noticeable facial hair and a mustache.

I'm 1.5 years, and the same. I don't understand why my facial hair isn't thick super dark or full yet because I had some before t. Noticeable enough that I got made fun of for having a little mustache shadow. And if I shaved my side burns with a razor you could see the line where my other fuzz was not shaved, it looked funny. And my moms side males have substantial facial hair. It's a waiting game. I dont like to shave because I like the shadows I get. But I trim it to a four and line it up so it looks clean.
Gender expression is NOT gender identity.
