Hi everyone,

I took my profile picture about 2 months ago, so at that time I was only on hormones for about 7 weeks, but I wanted to try and be brave and take a step forward to going full time. I was wondering how well or how close to passing I am as a female based on my profile picture. If you have any suggestions or advice at all I could definitely use it and would really appreciate it. I've been practicing makeup all the time and acting more feminine and I have been improving in general I think. So please feel free to give me any advice at all, even if you don't think I pass at all.

Thank you so much!,

Love,

Emma

Well, there's not much to see... but from what I can see, you look pretty good. Not sure if you pass yet, but you won't have a problem with passing.

Hmm, I'm very bad with technology even though I'm part of the "younger crowd". This picture looks a lot clearer in full size then in the small size, is there any way I can create a link for it? It won't let me create a link for it on photo editor =/

From the profile pic you look pretty feminine for someone who has only had seven weeks HRT. HRT takes time. Even in the best of circumstances 6-8 months of HRT would be a better "test".  Even then, it can take up to 2 + years for the full effect. Although going full time sooner than later may be tempting, waiting 6-8 months more will make things easier. Unless there is some reason to rush into full time, waiting to let the HRT do its thing will be better for you!

You can upload pictures through imgur or other such sites.

Do you use a photo site like photobucket or is it on your hard drive? If its a photo sharing site right click on your mouse and select  "copy image link" . Then go to a post in this thread and right click your mouse. This time select paste image location. This should provide a link to open up the full pic.

I'm using a picture from my hard drive since I took the picture using my webcam initially. Should I look into the program photo bucket? I really have no idea, since like I said I'm bad with technology lol. Thanks

Also, keep in mind that how you present in live situations can have a much greater impact on how people perceive you.

From the pic, you look fine to me. Work on voice and other aspects of your presentation if you aren't doing so already. Something I've been doing for a long time, off and on, is to spend a day or so looking at presumed women in the real world (avoid holding yourself to the photoshopped standards of magazines or other still photos).  When you look at ALL the women you meet day to day, rather than just those whose lucky genes or access to professional shoppers gives them an added boost, you'll start to realize that the range of female appearance is pretty wide, and start to think more about how to be the woman you want to be, given what you have to work with.

Also keep in mind that plastic surgeons can't buy their cars and houses if they don't work on our insecurities -- and by "our" I'm referring to almost anyone who identifies as female, and more than a few men as well.  If it's something that you really do want, and can find a way to get it, go for it, but don't expect it will really eliminate the inner sources of insecurity. Learn to act confident, and at least some measure of real confidence is likely to follow.

Photobucket is a hosting site, not really a "program." You upload the image from your machine or device to that site, and can get an image link from there to include in your posts. You can also use any other hosting site that doesn't restrict such links... if you have a Google account, you get a fairly large storage space for images as part of that. Just take care to do what you feel is necessary to preserve your privacy, if there is any concern people might use the images against you in some way.

There are many hosting services out there to choose from.

Do I have to beg for a response a second time in this thread?  :(

Here's another of me. What do people think?

Your face is rather round. That's a plus. You have a very high hairline, and your eyebrows sit rather close to your eyes... so those are a couple things that you may want to address. Your skin doesn't look as smooth as it could be, but that is often remedied by hormones.

You don't pass yet (imo), but hormones might bring you there by themselves. Profile shots would be helpful, as would higher-quality pictures, in determining your current passability and speculating on your future passability.

Thank you, Kelly.

I may lose some of the roundness following my bariatric surgery, that's definitely a concern.

I wear glasses which I had taken off for that pic so I was squinting which I imagine adds to the look of my brow.

I do have bad skin, a side effect of a congenital immune deficiency that leaves me with almost constant acne. :(

It's funny, I get called ma'am everywhere I go, all the time. A friend of mine didn't believe me until we went out one day and it happened a dozen times. From the waiter asking if "he can get anything for you ladies?" to store clerks saying "let me know if I can help you ladies with anything." I guess that gives me hope for the future.

To clarify, I can only write about whether I think you pass or not based on my own perspective. It's great that you pass in your community, and this is the flaw of "Do/Could I Pass" threads on TG forums: That we are usually harsher on each other because we are very knowledgeable about what to look for, and furthermore, because we do, at times, see the male or female form in a more ideal light than is realistic.

I suppose you already had your answer, though, eh? Passing in real life is a whole different ballgame than passing in pictures - especially when those pictures are being presented to nitpickers.

Happy for your success.

I wasn't sharing my anecdote to refute your points, more for my amusement and to my friend's bemusement. I do appreciate your honest assessment and always prefer bald, unadulterated advice/criticism over honeyed words.

Wow! thanks for the kind words everyone ^^ I haven't exactly spoken to anyone in real life about this yet so yours is the first opinion I've had on my looks gender wise. Although I do feel a little disingenuous now, of the handful of pics I took the other night this was easily the most flattering to my feminine side.
So at the risk of making you take back your compliments  :D and in the interest of fairness I'll post the others up

NotThereYet, I'm using Photobucket to host my pics, maybe try them if you're not already?

You've got naturally cute eyes.  A bit if a brow ridge, but thinning the brows from below will lessen the impact.

Hi, y'all. I'm new. :)

http://s1282.beta.photobucket.com/user/omicron1231/library/

Today is, God willing, t-minus 7 for the beginning of HRT. I've had a month and change of electrolysis work done, and have been growing my hair out for about a year. Haven't done much with styling or clothing yet. This is very much "me as I am day to day." One of the two friends I have confided in expressed skepticism that I would ever be female enough to pass, so in a fit of worry I came here.

So, two questions: Will my general 6'-even, looks-pudgy-at-180lb build be passable in time? And, what about the face? I assume FFS will be in order in a bit, but will that be sufficient? '~'

You've got a good starting point.

Hi all,

I'm 22, haven't started hormones or had anything done yet, can you please give your opinion on how you think I could look or what you think I need done? The outfit and wig are bad I know!

Thanks!

It looks pretty much like the last one you posted.  Webcam shots just aren't good quality, and a 3/4th view would help.

Sorry I didn't get to this topic sooner.   You can see my series of catch-up posts.

If I am not mistaken, last time I noted a clear androgeny in your photo image.  A blend of female and male characteristics.

You will probably benefit from some of the more common FFS procedures.

Look at the link in Sarah7's post in this topic, second post.
