hi guys
a question for those who have been through top surgery...
I live a stealth life and have nobody to ask but just want a second opinion.

I had top surgery just under 5 months ago. i still feel like i have "moobs", just loads smaller and squarer. happy with the nipples but its just not totally flat...

I saw the surgeon after 3 months and he said all was fine, said it suited my body as im not small and skinny. I did have a ginormous chest before surgery.

what im wondering is, is this right or should it be flat as a pancake? and, after 5 months should i be seeing the surgeon again or do I need to wait longer and see?

Just looks like you have pecs. Men don't have perfectly flat chests unless they're really skinny or prepubescent.

looks like my pecs before I went on E many years ago, I'm MtF. You didn't give us your age, lots of not really fat guys have moobs too, if you had gihugic boobs before, you look pretty good now.

in general theres alittle shape in men. I got parts of my cheast who is totally flat and im trying to train it up again but its hard. as long as its mucle or fat who suit the rest of the body, Dont worry to much about it.

My chest was totally flat post op, and a few months later, now that I've been working on building up my muscles, it's not totally flat. Your chest looks like normal-sized pecs without a shirt on. It may be different if you wear a tight shirt. Also, you should note that swelling can take a very long time to go down. It doesn't just vanish a few months later. Sometimes it can take a little over a year to right itself.

Honestly, if you're not happy with your results, you can talk to your surgeon and see if he'd be willing to remove more tissue after some time has passed. You should be able to get a revision if you don't feel like it's what you paid for, you know?

I'll second everyone else and say it looks normal. Unless you're thin as a rail you're not going to be totally flat. Heck, I'm thin as a rail up top and I'm not 100% flat. Most every guy will have a little pec or moob action going on.

If you're really concerned about it and want to see your surgeon again, I'd continue to wait a little longer. My surgeon offered me a revision (at an additional cost, so I turned him down) and said he'd do it after I'd been healing for a year.

As everyone else has said- looks like pecs!

Nope, no pancakes for grown men. You may still have some swelling. Some of us heal slower than others.
Also, scars make a contrasty outline that draws our eyes to them. When they fade, you can see everything else better.

honestly your chest looks awesome! i think maybe youre used to having something awful there, so you still see a part of that? no idea, but i'd kill to have your chest! seriously ;_;

I am extremely jealous.

Who did your surgery?  Not to be a downer but that does not quite look like pecs to me.  I would request a revision.  I know being larger gives you "some" chest but I want my surgeon to take it all and not even leave some that would proportionately there were I a cis dude? 

thanks again for the comments everyone. wheat thins, that is exactly what I fear. I had my surgery with Dr Miles Berry in London. They say no revisions until a year is up which will be August.

thought I would post an update for the record in case anyone else has a similar problem and reads this thread later on. Just been back to see my surgeon and he explained that there is some "dog ear" effect in the middle, as a result of not wanting to join up the scars whilst removing huge moobs.

He said will be an easy fix to turn a good result into a brilliant one - by way of a revision under local in 2 weeks time. I will post a pic afterwards as comparison.

note: I didn't mention the fact that not only was I huge before but also lopsided (one significantly bigger) which apparently makes a 2-stage op more likely

Looks good to me!  I went to a top US surgeon and ended up with squiggly incisions and some dog ears (I am overweight but not huge).  Not sure why my incisions/scars didn't look like most on his website, but it is what it is.  I am flatter up top but it did look odd in retrospect with my huge gut sticking out.  Am losing weignt which I hope cures the dog ears.  But still, my scars are squiggly.  :/

So I said I would update post-revision in case anyone searching with a similar problem finds this thread later. I'm glad I went back to the surgeon - I just think there was some tissue left behind and if you don't ask you don't get.

Still a bit swollen and covered in medical bandage glue but I think you can see the improvement in shape already (this is 2 weeks post-revision):
