I think the first thing you should do is find a good therapist. They are crucial to making sure you get the care you need and deserve.

i think you need to get on google and do some research. that's how i started. google and youtube. ftm transgender testosterone etc.

See if you can't find a LGBT friendly health clinic. Also I believe there is a place on here where you can find a list of therapists in particular areas. Do all the research you can on hormone replacement therapy and testosterone side effects and such. Pretty much anything FTM related that you can find, learn it. The more information you know, the better off you are.

Have you tried doing a Google search for "Gender therapist in Winston Salem, NC"?

Hey neighbor, I live near you. My Endo is closed to more trans patients but I do know of a doctor in Charlotte that a lot of people use. The triad area isn't good for resources honestly. I'll send you a pm with the info of the endo in Charlotte.

Friendship is magic

Gender therapist, but if you can't find one locally a therapist who specializes in "gay" people should be able to point you in the right direction.

Also, start small...I"m assuming you know you're female to male (FTM). If so, find a basic article or site (such as Wikipedia or here at Susan's) which will help you understand. Break up the big idea ("OMG! I'm in the wrong gendered body!!") into smaller pieces...

I don't like my girl-face because...
1.
2.
3.

I don't like my breasts because...
1.
2.
3.

I wish I could get rid of my vagina because...

1.
2.
3.

My friends/family don't like it when I talk about my gender because...(quote their words, not your perception)
1.
2.
3.

(Any of those questions, and all questions, could be answered "I don't really mind my _____", btw) Once you have a few self-made answers, you can go about learning how to correct things to set things right.

For me (I am MTF), I wasn't happy with my short "guy" hair...easy fix: grow it out. I didn't like my body hair, easy fix: shave and/or wax. I didn't like having a bulge in my pants...temporary fix: tucking. etc etc. One thing at a time.

Good luck, best wishes!!   8)

And welcome to Susan's!  :)
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
