Congratulations Aleah! I'm decades older than you, and even though I knew I was basically hated my entire life by my mom for being born male, once I realized I couldn't exist another day as a male impersonator, my mom and I have had a whole new relationship as mother and daughter for the last sixteen months! These have been the happiest months of my life, by far. I told my parents at sixteen I was in the wrong body and wanted to live as a girl, but they just sent me to a psychiatrist. Now my mom says that if they really knew how terribly unhappy I was they would have let me live as a girl, but I have my doubts. I'm 58 years old and I told them in 1971! It's still a nice thought though, and her newfound love for me has healed so many wounds it's impossible to put into words. I'm sure you've probably had some of the same emotions. Once again, congratulations!
