Ok. I started T yesterday, yay, super exciting.... : D

but the point of this is -- after noticing a couple of posts that make it look like maybe at least one or two other people have also started fairly recently -- I thought it might be interesting to have a small group of whoever has started within the last month or so. It might be cool to keep track of changes and compare them, see how things are going, etc. It wouldn't be entirely scientific, but it could be fun and/or informative.

I started February 1, 2013 and I'm taking testosterone cypionate every week through intramuscular injection.

Started at the end of November. Still considered recent enough to pitch in?

Sure, definitely. Are you doing shots? :)

Cool. I had thought comparing the changes per dosage would be interesting, but I can see how that might encourage self-medicating. I suppose the only thing to really do otherwise is discuss the changes as they come up. I've only had one shot, so... obviously nothing yet on my end. ;)

Started doing injections every ten days, six weeks ago. Major changes have been more/longer hair on legs/arms, lower growth, and my voice has made one decent drop but constantly cracks. Oh, and people are saying my nose is thicker? (o.O)

Get used to the voice cracking.  It lasts a lot longer than the novelty.  ;)

I think it was about 2 years until it was over, and I gave up on certain sounds.  They just weren't in the cards with my new voice.  It gets less frequent over time, but would come up at inopportune moments.  By the end you're pretty sick of it happening.

I have an appt for the 13th of Feb. I have heard she prescribes the first session then sends you out for tests. I am planning on getting the tests on the Friday so I get a long weekend.

I'm supposed to skip a shot the second week just to make sure nothing crazy happens, so my next one won't be until the 15th. It seems like there are a lot of different ways that the doctors go about doing this. :o

I am starting out on almost twice as much T as my boyfriend is taking, which is interesting in itself. He went to a naturopathic clinic, so he's on something different than I am... and then he opted not to up the dose when she offered to let him, because it's easier on the voice (and his main concern w/ T was losing his ability to sing). His doctor also didn't mention anything at all about pap-smears to him. D:

Funny story; I put in my prescription at the Walgreens down the street rather than ordering from Strohecker's, just because it was 20 minutes versus a day or so and I'm impatient. For the record, I think I'll go with Strohecker's next time, because it's almost half the price. ): but anyway, I went in to pick it up and I imagine the people in Walgreens are not quite as used to dealing with testosterone as Strohecker's... one of the women there had to talk to another about needles and syringes (which they made me pay for separately, despite it being included in my prescription >:() and I heard her say,

"What size syringe should... she? use for her testosterone...?"

lol. :'D no offense because I'm not passing very well, it just made me giggle. Then the other woman came over with the syringes and whatnot, and explained, fairly loudly, that "the nature of this medicine causes aggression, so you should let the people around you know"...

Even if it does cause a little aggression, which I'm not totally sure it does after reading as much as I have, I went through the process of getting it prescribed to me, lady, so you can assume I know what I'm getting into.

Am I recent enough to join in on this, it's an interesting idea....think it's five months now? I use my ticker to keep track and I can't see it until I post xD It's harder to keep track on Nebido, my shots are so far apart, due for my third...erm...soon ish o_o will have to check with my doc

democration

Sure. :)

It's interesting that you don't have to take them every week! That would be nice. I didn't get the whole plethora of options, but I think I probably would have gone with weekly shots anyway. It isn't as hard to do as I thought it would be... though that could be the thrill of starting. I've heard some guys have a little more nervousness/trouble giving themselves the shots as they get further into it. I hope that doesn't happen.

Nebido, though -- I haven't heard of this. :o Is it like the um... whatever they are, pellets that they insert under your skin every few months, or is it actually just a shot?

Yep it's a shot, the compound is undecanoate, Nebido is the brand name. I was supposed to be going on the more frequent shots but there's a huge supply issue. I'm happy I don't have to have them as often but I can't do them myself which is a bit of a pain.

I had the second shot after around 8 weeks (was meant to be 6) and the third one is supposed to be 12 weeks after that one so I've totally lost track xD I don't even know if my PCT has approved funding for the next shot yet.

I'm seeing an endo soon to discuss my levels and see what schedule will work best for me - I think it's anywhere from 10 to 14 weeks between shots depending on how the body reacts. Once I'm on a proper schedule I'm hoping it won't be as confusing to keep track.

My changes so far....my voice has dropped considerably to the point people can't tell the difference between me and my cis-male partner on the phone.

I'm much hairier than before on my legs and stomach and my facial hair is starting to come in. Black hair on the upper lip and literally a single black hair on my soulpatch :D I'm very excited for the soulpatch to fill in. Blonde hair coming in on my chin and sideburns.

Increased muscle mass even though I'm not working out at all, I'm starting to get visible biceps and my calf muscles are more defined.

Gone up 2 shoe sizes

GROWING PAINS....jeez I ache all over; and I'm so tired o___o ...and hungry; and my sex drive is out of control.

I'm taking my sixth shot tomorrow, which means I probably qualify for this thread.  :D

I'm seeing some hair growing on my upper lip and my voice dropped a half octave about two days ago, it felt rather weird at first but now I like it. :P I'm getting some fuzz on the sides of my face and I have some slight build of muscle mass in those muscles that I use most, aka my legs. I work at McDonald's so I get to carry boxes up some stairs and run around all day like a headless rooster.

Oh and, my sex drive is driving me bonkers.  ;D My girlfriend doesn't mind that in the least though... I'm one lucky guy.

Bumping with an update? ;D

I took my second shot yesterday, after skipping a week as instructed. I haven't been expecting any changes this early on, of course, am anticipating waiting at least a month or so before anything even slightly exciting... However, something that did change pretty immediately, noticeably so, was the downstairs growth. It was -- well, noticeable -- within a matter of days, which was kind of startling honestly, lol.

Also, 'bout that sex drive. I don't know if it's the T or if I'm just naturally horny, but jeezus.
