Swimming without a packer: Is it noticeable?

I'm in an awkward situation. I want to take up swimming. I haven't been swimming since early elementary though.

Back then I wore one-pieces and I loved them - I had no dysphoria until puberty hit - but nowadays I'm not so keen to the idea. Swim shorts and a rash guard seem like a fine idea but I'm worried about the lack of a bulge.

My parents support my transition but it's not an easy thing to talk to your family about a packer, and I can't get one past them. I think I'll skip that until I move out..

I keep on hearing people say it'd be noticeable, due to how clingy shorts get in water. That makes my anxiety stir up. I don't care much about passing, I just don't want any awkwardness.

I don't pack (at all) and I refuse to stay out of the ocean and lake (public pools are a little too confining for me). I make sure I get trunks that have a velcro zipper in the front. They don't lay as flat as the ones that fasten with string. I've never been asked anything or stared at. People are there to have fun. I doubt anyone is going to stare that intently at anyone's crotch.

I went swimming on holiday a couple of years ago. Took a packer, but never wore it. Nobody said anything. People wouldn't say anything even if they noticed, tbh, and anybody staring the shorts of other guys is the one with the problem ;)

as other says even if people would notice it would be rude to say anything.. "hey dont you have like.. a extreme small penis or what?" you never really head that..

I have a packer but I havent really used it, I been swimming a few times both without and nobody have commented.
giving a tip I usunally wear something in my pocket and for a reason the bugle in the side of my jeans tend to draw peoples notice over there, or, im not sure exactly what it dose? but a couple of people have been surprized when I told them I don't pack.

it depends on what kind of trunks you wear. but since your penis and testicles shrinks in the cold water, lots of other guys wont have much of a bulge either. Wear black.

im with those who say go with the big strip velcro fly ones as they tend to stop the shorts from clinging to your crotch. also go dark like navy, forest green, or black. also people dont really look at crotches al that much. also all teen guys i know wear boxers under their board shorts so that creates a buffer between you and the shorts as well.

Wear baggy swim pants. No one will notice, unless they feel you up. However, they would most likely get arrested and would therefore choose not to do that.  :)

I flipped out while on vacation and made my parents buy me board shorts under the pretext that "my legs embarrassed me because they were too big". Little did they know   >:-)

Anyway, I don't pack, and I'd say the locals shouting "Señor! Señor!" at me trying to sell me stuff was a pretty good indication of passing in my swimgear after a long day at the beach  :P

even with the velcro = there tends to be a lack of bulge i find.. but a bulge there isn't make or break for me. I could probably where a speedo without packing.. and still get labeled as male. So... if you pass anyways, don't worry about the bulge.

Is it noticeable? Yes.

Will people say anything about it? No.

''Hey umm you seem flat down there, do you have a dick? Or is it really small?''

LMAO. Not happening. Don't even worry about it.

I kinda wanna do that but its abit of a no-go here, so I should be sure it wouldnt be notice, I dont know if I could get in trouble for it but I might could at swimminghalls and such places so well.. maybe.. maybe not?

Don't wear tight trunks, then no problem.

Boxer style won't show anything.
