Alyssa, you asked for it - now you've got it!

Well the do i pass thread has been invisible for a long time, so it is kind of hard to find an exact place of where to post that. =/

Could I Pass One Day? - for those who are questioning, and wondering if they might have the ability to physically pass as "female."

You look Fabulous, Darling - for those who are finished, or nearly so, with their transitions.  A celebration of change.  "It was meant to be a place to celebrate being fabulous and enjoying life...not to be another thread for others to pick faults and put you down" - Rock_Chick

Before and After - a place to show where you were when you started and how far you have come in the process.

Do I Look Female? - THIS TOPIC, for those who are in the process of transitioning.  A place to seek advice, reassurance, and constructive criticism.

Helpful hint, more than one view of your face or body could be helpful.  Additional details can be located in places like the FFS board and the HRT board.  The Voice Therapy board also has a "voice passing" topic stickied.

If you are going to delete your pictures in the future, it is best to delete the link in your topic post, as well as the source files on the picture hosting site.  Even if you delete your own post, those pictures can possibly remain on the internet.

One more thing: If you don't want your image quoted, say so in your post.

Rule #18 of the Terms of Service has been interpreted to preclude asking others not to quote your pictures - sorry, my fault.

Edit: 6-24-13  Name change by popular request.

This is a tough one.

Aside from you hair being awesome, I'm going to have to say no. Your face has too many masculine features still though at the same time that's also basing it off of our scrutinizing and overly picky trained eyes so I might say you would pass to cis people.

Makes me wonder if the better commenters on this subject are actually cis and not trans.
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

And that is about what I expect to read around here.

EDIT: I've not been misgendered in so long I forget the last time it happened.

I'll  also make the comment that all the women in my family would likely get clocked here.. lol We share many of the same 'masculine' features..

Hmm... I doubt it. The whole context of asking "Do I pass?" primes someone to the possibility that someone might be trans. Without such priming there are very few people who would see anything but a ciswoman in Kelly's photo. They may note that the face isn't ultra-feminine, but... What is more statistically likely in most people's lives? A ciswoman with somewhat masculine features or a transwoman? So, past a certain threshold, any evidence for the latter possibility is explained away whenever possible, while any evidence for the former is latched on to further reaffirm impossibility of a person being trans.

When someone asks "Do I pass?" that process runs in reverse, - most cis people may not consciously know what makes a face feminine, but they have a good enough subconscious idea to guess.

Okay Ill try this too. I haven't put anything up for a while.
In my imagination I see a fair world,
Everyone lives in peace and in honesty there.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

@kelly

Given just the picture you look passable to me though as I said in your voice thread the voice would make me take a second look, sorry just being honest.

My voice thread was kind of a joke.. The fact is, my voice doesn't cause me issues.. Although I will confess that my voice does seem to have changed somewhat over the last month or so - and it's nothing I've done consciously..

I'm at work waiting for blue bars to cross the screen... might as well look at pretty pictures..

Warning: I'm an optimist.

Yes... by look alone id say so..  you actually look a lot like my brother's cis girlfriend...
I'm not sure where this path will take me, but I'm gonna stick with it until I find a place where I'm truly comfortable.

I think you're doing good, you certainly pass from my perspective.  If you present too many masculine clues, and I had a chance to REALLY stare at your face I might second guess myself, but my first impression is female.

Wish I had something more constructive to offer.

@MaidOfOrleans

The only thing that really stands out to me is that the wig should be cut/styled, otherwise yes.

Thanks,

Honestly I hate wigs and wouldn't waste the time. I just wear it when I absolutely have to like going out in public. Seeing as I still have a guy voice I mostly stay in boy mode until I've had time to perfect it and grow my hair out long enough to style. I cant stand the double life thing so its full time or no time for me.

The lighting in these does make a little difference.  Both shots give me the first reaction of female. I think the harsher light of the second one highlights your facial structure more, but I still feel it looks feminine.

I wish I looked like you en-femme.  I'll have to dig out a picture of my recent attempts and post them too, since I offered my biased opinion... that'll have to wait till I get home...

When I first looked at your picture the first thought that came to my mind is that you look a bit like Janis Joplin.

I know I don't pass in my avatar photo but I can't wait to see what I will look like as the HRT does it's work over time

To me you look female, a tomboy female who goes out on nature hikes and eats granola bars (which is totally awesome)
But still very much a female!
I think your beautiful inside and out also, which is the most important thing.
