Now if I can get her to leave me the hell alone about my choice in job.

Parents have to get past the idea that they can manipulate their kids into living the lives they want for them and finally realize that they are unique individuals and will do what they decide they want to do with their lives.

I agree, but I doubt she'll ever leave me alone until I get a "real" job [i.e. a career job].  Right now I am applying to those jobs, but my degree is getting me nowhere in this city and I utterly refuse to teach.  And if I mention applying to other jobs, she gets pissed off because I can't support myself fully on them [right now I just need something to fill the gap between the end of school and getting the job I want].  I am applying everywhere that I can to get some sort of income to help out.  She can't grasp the idea and keeps insisting that I get my license to teach in TX and that I should teach [so many factors are going into why I don't want to teach, particularly why I don't want to teach in TX].

Sounds like you're both beating a dead horse. You won't teach and she won't listen. Guess you are right in wanting to put some space between you both. Good luck Aaron!

My dad randomly came over and talked about how I felt he wasn't concerned with my mother's violent reactions. He said it's a serious thing (believe me, I know) and that it's stressful for the both of them and that my- well, my ex-boyfriend may have pushed me into it. Yeah, about that...you're going to tell me that because this boy leans towards homosexuality, he caused something years before I ever met him? That's a big freaking influence.  ::)

He agreed that her behavior is inappropriate (you think?) and said she doesn't know any better. Then he went on to say he doesn't think I'm getting the right kind of help and would be happier if he heard it from someone skilled in these things that "this is what she needs and what's best for her".
Who is this "she" he was talking about?  ???

Oh joy, string of swear words is coming out of the living room. I wonder who has done my mother a terrible injustice this time.

I'm looking foward to future improvements of bottom surgery, no matter how small they are.  I was watching a video on Youtube that a guy made and he had his phalloplasty consultation and the doctor told him about the option to use bone fragments from the hand and incorporate it with his phallo.

wow, talk about having a boner...

And I am actually cooking a real meal for a change. Gonna have a nice peppercorn and garlic tenderloin with some garlic smushed taters. No veggies though, I still can't stomach those things.

Um, so they have to cut your hand open too? No! Plus, a penis never actually "gets hard", even when erect; it only gets engorged with blood via vasodilation. I don't like that phrase because it's biologically inaccurate. Heck, it would actually be easier to chop off an erect penis with a machete since it wouldn't squish as easily, giving you a better chop. It doesn't get harder, so bones would just make it feel creepy.  :(

For me, a boney penis is better than no penis.

I keep forgetting that as an MTF, I have a bias against penises.  :P

My left breast has been sore for a week or so, maybe I'm getting a growth spurt. I could use a few, that's for sure.

Don't be rude to Diana, she may be the EMT that responds when you're having a heart attack!  >:-)

I would never not perform my best on a patient. I would always try to save a life that can be saved, but I won't like it!  >:(

Oh... I'm so threatening. *Sarcasm*  ::)

Came out to the UK part of my Family via email last monday but I've received no response so far, which is kind of upsetting as I honestly thought they'd be cool but now I'm starting to worry.
But then I've been in a general malaise this last week of feeling like carrying on with transition is a stupid idea and that it'll never work out/getting angry that I didn't get to start sooner.  I keep seeing an old tired looking guy in the mirror and it's killing me.
So yeah, guess I just need to moan a bit.

You did mention though that you haven't been able to eat properly for a week. That's probably a big part of it, you won't feel your best or even look your best when you're not properly nourished. I think you'll feel better again when you can eat. *hugs*

FWIW, you look really great, you were having huge changes at only 2 months in (not ure where you're at now, I just remember the last pic I saw being 2 months on HRT).

Thanks Caleb.  You're totally right, although knowing that I'll feel better in a few days doesn't do much right now, it's good to be reminded that this too shall pass.

I came out to my mom... I think. I think she still doesn't quite get the idea. I just... I just really hope I'm going in the right direction. I really hope that I'm on the road to happiness.
