Really? Do you actually not like those? Maybe you just don't like school. Those are good stories, and I know that some classes can suck the joy out of everything.

The authors focus more on sounding smart than they do on the story, making most of each of them redundant. Superfluous details do not make for a good story. The stories are fine (at least some of them are), but shrouded by bad writing that makes their delivery poor.

PS - "A&P" is a story about some perv cashier who stares at 3 girls in bikinis for 5 pages and then quits his job when his boss tells the girls to dress more decently. I would find it more questionable for someone to actually like that story.  ???

I've missed rendering computer models. I'm glad to see that I'm not too rusty at it either. I still run circles around the others in Bravofleet. But sometimes it's fun to pop up and leave them drooling for more. They call me the Graphics Goddess over there.

I've really, really thought about getting into Star Trek roleplaying. It's something I might do, though I'm sure it'll be very time-consuming.

...I'm starting to count down until I can finally leave.  I love my parents, but they're not being very nice in regards to me being trans*.  My mom said "I can see you doing that; becoming a boy and doing drag." My reply was, "Well, at least you'd be somewhat happy  then." [this was ignored] My mom said, "But I can't see you doing that."  Me: "Doing what?" -couple of seconds- "Doing what, mom?"  She never answered.

She doesn't believe I'm going to transition and she doesn't believe me about being trans*.

I wonder what happened and why the switch up?

Unfortunately, I think it's just a natural reaction.  I oscillated between "Yes, I'm trans" and "No, I'm not"  for a while before I was able to accept myself.  And that's with having to live with everything for my entire life.  If parents are just hearing about it now, for the very first time, then it's reasonable that they'll have a denial phase too.

Probably this:

Lately my mom's just been rather rude, though, and irritated with me.  She's been flat out mean to me in regards to getting a job [particularly one that involves teaching].  Being trans* probably doesn't help though I don't know if she remembers that or not...not after the "discussion" we had this morning about me not wanting to teaching.  She asked, "Well, we need a good reason as to why you don't want to teach and your experience during student-teaching doesn't count."  I was just sitting there thinking, "Well, I have one, but it's not like you'll accept it so I'm not going to say it."  That was just a small portion, though, and the rest was my mom saying how she "feels robbed" and I "take her and dad for granted" and that "she gave up so much for" me so I should be willing to teach for at least "three years".  Pretty much the entire time I felt a bit like an unwanted child...She kept saying how she worked terrible jobs to take care of me and my sister and that she gave up so much for us...I get it, but it doesn't make me feel at all like I'm wanted.  It just makes me feel like a burden.

And I have to somehow get over these feelings in the next 30 minutes because I have an interview at Six Flags and I need to look good.

I'm finding myself being more dysphoric about my body, the more I'm accepting of my gender and the less I stop denying it. Crappy situation. I don't wish to look at my drivers license, or in the mirror and see my dudeliness. :(

I'm glad I'm starting to accept myself for who I am though. Finally.

I'm thinking I might have to replace the drive belt on my washing machine. You'd think the things would last longer than 27 years, wouldn't you?

27 years? You beat the odds on that machine's life expectancy I'm sure!

Honestly, I'm surprised it and the dryer is still going after they were both under salt water during the storm that flooded the house. But a good hosing and spraying with some electrical cleaner and they lived and that was ten years ago.

I just have to get a new belt for it is all, otherwise it's ok. Just slips a little with heavy loads.

Sounds like you got nice set! I had an expensive tankless gas water heater installed two years ago and it's now serving me alternating hot and cold showers. Piece of crap! Grrrrrrr!

Guess who just cleaned her basement!  It only took 4 months of procrastination...

N... no.  It was me.  I cleaned my basement.

Hilary Clinton probably has secret service people she can pay to do it for her.

I know. I just like to take silly guesses when people say "guess..."  :P

I figured, I just couldn't think of any other way to reply.  When people start with "Guess what?"  I usually say "Oh... uh... I'm going to guess... 'what'?"
