Based on that photo, you seem to pass pretty well. Your body/shape is extraordinary, and your face seems reasonably cute. Your forehead looks like it might be a little heavy, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem if everything else lines up nicely. It's difficult to tell facial features with a head-on photo, so I can't give much more input than that.

You're relatively lucky to have such a defined waist, hips, and breasts. Your hands don't seem out of place either.

I don't think I would be afraid of posting photos, if I had a body like yours. Hopefully your anxiety will be alleviated in due haste.

Well, here's what 50 looks like.

Do I pass muster?

This is your lucky day!  My diabetes doctor told me to "stay off the taters," or something like that.   ;)

From this distance, I'd say nobody'll think twice about gendering you female.

I guess that might change if you had a closeup photo, but yeah - that body shape is a powerful indicator. :)

Sarah Lynn,
If I saw you as you are in the top photo (with your bangs showing and your hair pulled to the front), I wouldn't have taken you as ANYTHING but female.  In fact, you look really good!  I think that the bottom photo, while you don't look male, looks more androgynous.  Again, I think it's the way that you're wearing your hair.

HOWEVER, I wouldn't base anything on just 3 months of HRT.  You have a LONG time yet to feminize so don't take my words as gospel.  Passing is a snapshot judgement, especially that "early in the game".  Just don't be hard on yourself - the top photo proves that you're a LONG way down the road.

Hmm... Slightly more possible to figure out. But I doubt I'd notice unless you sounded male. :)

Yes, you're a natural!
Bushy looking eyebrows, you need to share half of them with me because I'm eyebrow challenged.  :D

Ok, time to stop commenting and put myself in the firing line. :)

I've got three photos, one of which is "I can't believe how well that came out" and two of which are "Ok, this is actually an honest image." Guess which one is which!

Please forgive the lighting. My phone sucks at indoors.

(I don't know what happened with my face here - or much else in this shot. Lighting sucks.)

I agree, you look like a girl to me too. Very cute.  :)

Don't listen to Shantel about your hair, I like it, it has a 70's theme to it which I've always thought was very cool.

You kids these days!  ;D

Geez, everyone says that. People were comparing me (Boy mode) to John Lennon for some reason... Ah'm not trying for '70s. Ah'm trying for "long." And at this point in time, "long" looks like that. I didn't do anything to it... :(

Eh, oh well. Will probably get it styled (and my eyebrows thinned out a bit) when I go full-time sometime in the mid future.
Thanks for the confidence boost, y'all. :D

Do I need FFS?

Sydney,
It's hard to say if you need FFS because you are obviously in the morbidly obese range weight wise. It would be best if you get some help with a lean diet plan and an exercise program and shuck a lot of poundage first. You will lose fat off of your extremities first, on face. neck, lower arms and lower legs. Once that happens we would be able to get a better idea of what if any FFS you may need. Hope this doesn't make you angry, it's not intended to, I'm trying to be helpful being a former lard butt myself and having dropped 60 lbs. You will be happier, live longer and look a lot nicer in and out of your clothes.

Thanks for the tips, but do you think I pass as it is? I've been told I do. :)

Yeah, you have a nice friendly face and a great smile that would disarm anyone, it worked on me. Hope you take my advice though Sydney, it's a lot of work but well worth the effort and you'll be glad you did.

so I just went shopping :) and i figured I would throw up a current picture of me. I still think I look like a guy, and defenately need to get my eyebrows done. Though I get told I am too hard on myself like all the time. So thoughts opinions?

You look cute! I actually don't think your eyebrows look that bad here either, just natural. And I peaked at your before picture for a refresher. You seem to have had very neutral/feminine features to begin with. Maybe that's why you're still seeing a guy? You're very cute, so I can't think of any other reason. You look all girl here.

In other words... Yeah, definitely pass!

I'm going to make a comment that isn't intended to provoke an argument, just provide an alternative perspective.

Passing, in my personal experience, is a combination of things, not just looks. Masculine features in the face? Go sit at a mall and watch all the women going by, especially older ones! Passing is looks, mannerisms, speech, speech patterns, behavior...

I also notice that lots of young MtFs tend to focus on looks above all else. I know there is this desire to look feminine and be attractive and I applaud and encourage that. But passing, as in living life as a woman and being accepted as a woman is so much more. It has been very rare for me to see any transwoman who has to have FFS yet many still do. I plan to do so myself, for me, for my own personal vanity, but I also know that I can and do pass in public as a woman right now, because I have. Even with my paralyzed vocal cord issues I can get my voice to work, for very short periods. All of this encourages me as I move towards full time eventually.

So making the "do I pass" judgement from a few photos seems, to me, to be quite a leap.

I will state once again that I don't want to discourage this thread nor provoke an argument, just provide an alternative perspective. Yes, looks matter but in "passing" (and I really hate that term) there is so much more to consider. Don't forget the other things! Voice, removal of beard shadow, mannerisms, behavior, voice, speech patterns... all these will play into whether someone "clocks" you or not almost as much as how you look.

To be honest I posted a photo update in the general chat to get thoughts/opinions. It got redirected to this page, that wasnt my original intent on asking if I pass, because I know I dont. I was just looking for things that stand out etc. etc.
