The scale is used to count electronic parts that are much smaller than jelly beans, so the accuracy is spot on. The scale was zeroed with a ziploc bag on it, given forty jelly beans as a sample to establish weight, then the rest of the beans were poured into the bag. The jar and cap weren't involved in the weighing and counting.

it's a trick, the jellybeans are actually just a sticker or insert inside. tat was done to replace the jelly beans that were eaten over time by various members on here. I call dibs on the greens.
