I looked at how many showed on one side and going by the width of the jar, tried to guess how many would be in it that way considering you had all around the outside and then a narrowing down to the middle. Still tough though, especially to get it exact. How far off was I on an earlier guess?  and which guess was it, lol?

Always go with your first instinct.

I've decided to make it easier, here is a different view for those who want to figure it out mathematically. Not sure that will help. The closest guess so far has been Jaime. Good luck, hugs, Devlyn

Great.  She made five different guesses:  1024, 1568, 1865, 1936, and 1963.

Which one?

It was the one you missed on the first page, 1283, but then it was Zoe at 1536. So far Zoe is still the closest of the new guesses. Everyone else, keep trying! Hugs, Devlyn

Ok, girls. (And guys, and frogs) Time to solve this problem - with LOGIC.
Let's do a binary search algorithm. Someone start with the number halfway between 1523 and 1200; I'll start the numbers between 1542 and 1536. (Less likely to be here as there are fewer entries)

Whomever Devlyn says is closest, we then take the midpoints on either side of her and repeat.

1539?

Or we could cheat and ask how big is the jar and how many bags were used to fill it. Looks like about a bag and a half maybe. And then ask what kind of jelly beans they. Haha.

Or we could turn it into a counting thread!  Start at a number we know is too low and then everybody guesses one higher until we're done.

So my tactic of scaring you away from logic worked! You can see they're Starburst jelly beans, but the only measurements I'll give you are these ones from "Whole lotta Rosie"

You could say she's got it all!

Good idea, Count! <munching on jelly beans>  You keep going up, I'll work the jar down!

Let's see.. using lateral thinking

The Sun is conjunct Venus, Mars and Uranus in Aries, and Uranus has just formed an aspect with Saturn in Pisces which means that people born under the sign of Capricorn might surprise you by telling jokes.

In Bangkok it's mostly cloudy with a high of 37 degrees.

So that means there's 1323 jelly beans in the jar.

I think there's a method to that madness!  ;D
