Would hair removal, laser or electrolysis be futile and in vain if done without hormones? I mean, if there is still a steady supply of testosterone to encourage future hair growth, would it be pointless to have electrolysis or something done?

I am on hormones and am having electrolysis done and sometimes I wonder if its futile. Its just my chin luckily, and not full goatee thick by any means, but its a pain.

Also, if I already know that my facial hair type requires electrolysis and that laser would not work on it, does that mean that laser wouldn't work on my genital hair either. I've pretty much already decided I'm not going to seek any hair removal down there prior to surgery. I just can't afford it and actually I never developed much genital hair. I stopped at tanner stage 3-4ish for male genital hair growth. But I would consider a few laser sessions if it would actually help. Any advice here? Apparently 1/3 of Dr. Bowers' patient don't have any hair removal done prior to surgery.

I assume you're talking about facial hair... The process of laser and electrolysis destroys or disables the follicle itself. It's not affected by hormones, to the best of my knowledge.

Now, hair on top of your head? That tends to be, much to so many of our chagrin.
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Lasered hair will come back thicker over time depending on hormones unless the follicle isn't killed outright (which isn't guaranteed with laser). Electrolysis on the other hand is not effected since scar tissue is what prevents the hair from coming back.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

If there is scar tissue, the Electrologist was doing something wrong and was probably a Quack  ;D

Even in the follicle itself?
