Hello,

My name is Elayne. I am a filmmaker from Seattle, WA. I've been in the midst of a transition, MtF, since January.

A myspace friend of mine Renae, spoke about the forum such that I had to ask her what the URL was. I'm glad I came over here.

I haven't been a part of an online forum in a few years, and never about trans-related topics, so this should prove to be fun for me.

I'm a Joss Whedon fan, I like Battlestar Galactica and Stargate SG-1, and I read quite a lot. But don't let that pigeonhole me...I am always eager to try new things, except kalamata olives and country line dancing.  ;D

I haven't built a siggy yet, but when I do, it'll look like this:

Welcome to Susan's Elayne. I look forward to reading more from you.

BTW, what kind of films do you make?

I have produced a range of films, nothing in the feature-length category.
My work in producing has encompassed state/county-sponsored educational piece; live music footage; music & image pieces; short-form narrative; fly-films; music videos; short thriller/horror; and finally, experimental.

An upcoming project will take my company into a closed-room classroom setting at a local pole-dancing school, examining the process and alchemical mix present in a class of women learning poledancing.

My latest project in post is my most robust, having been shot on HD and after editing/finishing, will be blown up to 35mm and distributed across Western Washington State as a 3-minute short played before the feature in several art-house theaters.

Within the definition of my business, I find myself contracting with other filmmakers, typically coming on board to fill a need or to coordinate a location, day of casting, or even as part of the art direction crew on a microsoft internal video project!

So, yeah, I guess I'm all over the map! lol

Welcome from another Puget Sounder.

I'm sure you know all about Ingersoll, Emerald City, the Esprit Conference (MTF) in Port Angeles and Gender Odyssey (FTM) conference in Seattle.

Welcome. I live near Seattle (southwest across the Sound). Aside from the obvious clinic group resources, Seattle has some excellent professional (therapists, physicians, etc.) help if you're interested. Now if I can find a local cosmetic facial surgeon (some of us aren't pretty).

Will you be at Saturday or Sunday's Pride events? I photograph the downtown parade.

Good luck and take care.
