Hey everyone. I've been on T for most of the past 12 years (had to stop a couple times for brief periods due to blood pressure becoming hard to keep down) and until about a year ago assumed all the hormone induced changes were done.
Within the first year I was equip with a full neck beard and full chin growth but never grew more than light colored fuzz up my jaw line. The mustache area was dark hair but very slow growing and thin, not like the chin and neck hair at all. I figured I was going to be one of those guys who just couldn't grow a beard. Well somewhere between 8-12 months ago I noticed stray dark hairs coming in in random patches on my cheeks and up my jawline. I thought it was weird and shrugged it off.
As the months have passed the left side of my face has filled in a great deal with only a couple small thin areas where hair isn't growing in well yet. The right side of my face is a ways behind the left but it is definitely getting there too.
Nothing has changed. My dosage is the same, my injection schedule is the same. Not sure why this has happened. I'm not complaining but have been surprised by it happening this far in. I shaved my entire face this evening, I'm curious to see if it's growing at close to the same rate as my normal areas of facial hair.
Anyone else experience anything similar many years after being on T? Any thoughts on why this is happening now instead of within the first 5 years or so? I haven't been under the care of an Endocrinologist since around the 3 yr mark as my primary care doctor has kept up with labs and prescriptions since. I'm thinking an endo would have a better idea of why this happened than my primary care who says he's not sure.
