I am blown away with how he took it! I thought he would be supportive (maybe a little worried though), but he didn't seem worried in the slightest. He said EVERYTHING I was hoping I would hear and more. Things like "bless your heart" over and over and over. He told me that it did make sense to him because I have been feminine my whole life, and when I grew into adulthood as a "man" I was still kind of a pretty boy.. (his words, lol). He told me he just wants me to be happy and that he is proud of me for taking this step / becoming who I want to be. Then at the very end, he said to me, "This is great, just so great. Life is going to be so good. Life IS good. I love you so much. Bless your heart".

You know, it's really nice to see somebody else's coming out story is as positive as mine. There are times when I feel kind of guilty that everybody that I've told has been positive and supportive about it, where as other posters have experienced the exact opposite. Now I just have to squelch the voice in the back of my head that's waiting for the other shoe to drop...

Good for you Jennygirl!  Indeed that sounds like a very supportive Dad but I must note that you two have likely developed a healthy and understanding relationship prior to this big coming out announcement.  Here's to you as Father and Daughter.  No doubt you and your family will continue to support each other and share this journey together.  Blessings all around

@Jenny, You have a beautiful Dad that I wouldn't doubt everyone would love to have! Congratulations! Always good to hear great outcomes that make us feel good & have Happy tears in our eyes. Probably proud hugs between both of you next time you get together. I didn't have to worry about telling my parents as they passed about 10 years (early 90's) before I began my road  to discovery of me being trans, so late in my life. I have about a dozen people I have come out to starting at cd & my journey to trans, telling my Sis, her husband, her two kids & their SO's, a cousin & his wife plus my closest friends, it has all been good & they are supportive. When you give love you get love.

Happy for you!

Thanks everyone! I've been soooo relaxed today. So very happy.

My younger half sister has been posting things online all day bragging about how awesome her family is and how she wouldn't want to change anything about any one of them. It's been really awesome to witness their happiness, even if I am a couple thousand miles away.

Thanks again for the warm thoughts, I'm glad I was able to share this with you. Reading the comments here only further cements my positive attitude about everything that happened today. <3

Hey Jenny, that's really great to hear.  It's wonderful when your family supports you and loves you.  It makes it so much easier to get on with life.

Wow... I am both speechless and unbelievably happy for you, Jenny. My parents have not talked to me in years. Count your blessings, and may the Lord Jesus bless that wonderful father of yours!
