hey there
unless you have a medical condition, you gain weight by eating more calories than you burn. Start tracking your calories and you may find that you are not eating as many as you think. try fitday or calorieking to start tracking your cals. try to get 500-1000 more caloriese than you need. I get about 4-5k a day and i am trying to put on weight. Its not as easy as you might think.

I have tried doing this many times.  :( My doctor had to give me pills to make me feel starving so that I would eat more. I couldn't handle them though, they weakened me too much to the point that I was bed confined for a few days. I already eat a lot more than I should. I was going to go back to the doctor to see if I had a condition. It stinks because I look somewhat girly with a tiny structure.

Yes. A tiny structure makes it harder to pass. So the problem is that you can not manage to get the calories in? Im not trying to sound condesending, but just type all your foods into fitday.com then get your total calories. 500 calories to your daily total and do that for a week. Then add 500 more until you are where you want to be. The big secret of eating more is forcing yourself to eat just a little bit past when you feel full.

500 calories is a big hand ful of nuts or some nice steak - you can do it.

Eating more when your body, specifically your stomach, is accustomed to not eating much can be pretty painful at first, but your stomach will stretch over time. Try eating more calorie dense foods that don't take up as much volume in your stomach to get the calories in, then adjust to eating in larger volumes slowly enough that you won't be in tons of pain. Like others have said, track your calories and plan out meals and snacks that meet your requirements ahead of time, it makes it more likely you'll follow through. Hope that helps you out  ;D

FYI: Changed my name from Matty because I felt it wasn't obviously male and I'm now going by Jack, a name I had when I sneaked into a checking hockey league as a boy.

So here's a silly pic of me with a dude called Nathan Fillion (if you don't know who he is...I feel sorry for ya!)  I broke my arm and got my left ear half hacked off in a film shoot gone wrong and when I went up to ask him a question during a Q&A he recognised me and said, "Are you the guy with the broken arm?  Come up here!  You all gotta hear this guy's story!!"

I was so psyched at passing that I actually pushed my nerves aside and went up on stage in front of 800 people!!  This was about 8 years ago, but I haven't changed all that much really lol.  I always worry about passing when I open mouth smile, I try to avoid it for the most part so I don't have many examples of it, but I ended up laughing here.  What you guys think?  Yay or nay?

Oh and btw, the insanely cute and sweet Summer Glau was to my right ;). (http://imageshack.us/a/img580/3255/omghe.jpg)

I'd say yay. And I'd say I'm a little bit jelaous right now ;D

Devlyn: Actually had baby mantids all over my room the other day. That was fun, cought 55. (made the wrong choice of NOT puttin the eggsack in an aquarium.)

Jack: Thanks My hair just looks long and awful just about anytime it gets longer, but I thought my hair did something awesome that day. But it usually just wants to round out my face anyway it can. Also, you look great doing an open mouth smile. And I thought you were laughing before I read to that part. Congratulations on meeting Nathan Fillion. That's really awesome.

Darkflame: For me short messy hair just means I'll have a guinea pig swirl right above my forehead. :/

Liminal Stranger: I think the second picture looks great. I'd say 14 or 15 on age. If your ponytail isn't too long, I think you could even pass in a beanie. If your mom asks just take it off to prove you have hair. The hoodie would work too, I just think you'd look cute with a beanie.

>The tie is the only one I had, it was a gift and I was just practicing tying them. I'm going to be looking for better suited ties in the future.
>The shirt is not my fault. I'm currently not allowed to shop for mens clothes (I'm not out of the closet) and these button up female cut shirts are the only options I have currently.  :'(
You can get plain T-shirts in the girl and women section. But I suppose these days it might be harder these days then when I was little. But my parents never really cared about me wearing boys clothes.

You're certainly right. I normally wear loose shirts, but my folks don't let me wear them out of the house so this is my second best option. I'm also going to try to get sneakers, hopefully that goes well. I'll try getting a picture of my other button up shirt later to see if that one looks slightly better.
Sorry if this sounds insensative, but can't you tell them you really don't feel comfortable at all in fitted shirts. You don't have to be trans to feel better in about yourself in a loose shirt.

I'd also try a different shirt, even though patterns help distract from the chest, the front pockets help draw attention to moobs, and going with darker colors (IMO) might seem more masculine than the pastels.
Agreed

So I have a gig working as a stunt double and it meant getting my hair cut shorter than I've ever had it! #2 clippers for sides and back! So I sucked it up and got it done but because it's a style worn flat I convinced then to leave the top a little longer. I hate the short sides and back and I was trying to make the top work. The problem was the amount they had to cut means that there's not much at the sides at the top so an overall spikey look wasn't looking too great, but I tried a faux hawk and it looked a way better. I tried to get a pic sorta side on so you could see how short sides are. Ignore how fine it looks in the front corner, my hair has natural highlights and the way the light catches it there is probably why it looks fine/patchy in that area but it's identical to the hair at the sides in reality. Light also makes it look like I have half an eyebrow! Haha!

I've never had super short and styles I've had usually hide my hairline I guess. Anyone understand hairlines enough to know if this gives me away with this style? Should I stick to caps until it grows out?

Sometimes, it's hard to find words to tell you how much you mean to me. A lot of times, I don't say anything at all. But I hope someday, you'll understand, having you is what I live for...(I Love you my Queen )

Jossef, definite pass.

Deejayk: Pass but I think the volume of your hair and the shape might not help.  It's hard to tell from angle but it looks to be a little undefined at the sides for the hairline.  Although, I must admit that I'm no hairline expert myself, I'm wearing caps all the time since my hairline became obvious (pic above) because I'm not sure if it reads male enough!  Lol.

Jealous of both of your eyebrows.  Damn!  I have pathetic eyebrows, they thin out a little too much as they get half way across my eyes, and no, I've NEVER plucked them!

Dysphoia has been pretty bad lately. I think my face looks pretty feminine. I took this picture a few weeks ago.

I don't usually check in with the FtM section, but in my opinion everyone on this page looks like a dude to me. I think you guys can stop worrying and get on with your lives.

Darrin Scott - nothing feminine at all and that is a wicked hairline dude.

I know that there is already a topic for this, but it is very busy and I don't think I could quickly get a response (if any) on the main topic. I have been very insecure in the way I look lately, as I am somewhat chubby and have very feminine features (large eyes, full lips, round face). I don't exactly know how to post picture to forums and I'm fairly new, so heres the link: http://omnipsychedelia.tumblr.com/post/49763043176/and-now-for-a-photograph-of-your-dearest-blogger
I appreciate any feedback and please do not comment about my rather peculiar scars.

Yeah, you're fine. I'd say you look around 13 or 14.
