I totally disagree that a gay guy would undergo sex reassignment if he was feeling like a man. I believe that the Islamic law sees transsexuality as a medical problem and therefore offers a choice of having medical treatment for those suffering from GD. Of course some of those individuals are gay guys but I believe very few...

Anyway, my aim was to make a point about how impressive the f2m results of this particular doctor were. I would never like to find myself in a country run by islamic laws.

I'd be very hesitant about going to Iran for gender reassignment surgery even if the results are stellar, especially considering that within a year or so they'll be having another set of elections which some people are predicting violence like there was last time.

Gay men (and lesbians) do get SRS in Iran, because the laws say that being gay is illegal and punishable by death, even if men and women don't want to transition, they often do anyways if they're unable to live their lives in secret or flee the country. Sex-changes are allowed, because they're not mentioned in the Qu'ran, while some people interprete the Qu'ran as forbidding homosexuality. It's not uncommon.

A while back I read a news item where the president of Iran "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad" was invited to speak at an American university, and one of the students asked if there were any homosexuals 'living' in Iran...He's answer was simple "No there are no homosexuals in Iran !" and what he meant was, in order for homosexuals to continue to live in Iran they would have to undergo reassignment surgery...

So the numbers quoted in the link provided by LearnedHand, would be about right, that is 80% of those who have had surgery in Iran are 'gay' and only 20% of those who have had surgery actually suffered from gender dysphoria...

People get reported and burden is on them to disprove it, which is pretty difficult.

Ugh... anytime I am thinking that being born as trans pretty much screws up Your life, if I go deeper into this, I always try to think that it could have been worse. You might be born MtF in India (we all know what is the attitude towards having girls in families there...), some countries or states which have no idea what TS means (I dont know how NK deals with TS, but I doubt there is SRS available there, though given their population, statistically there must be a lots of TS), being born in some remote areas with 0 access to information and having no idea what is going on with You... Other sad options

Besides, I think that effects of SRS for a gay guys must be terrible. They do not suffer from GD and they are males. Their inner world is entirely male with that gay-ish glazing on top and there is no female brain circuit or wiring in their brains, we are all talking about And gay men usually are not attracted to TS girls, because they do not see us as males (and rightly so), they regard as as females and thus their homosexuality is not triggered by us.

I did email someone i know there about this and they did say they have a process to determine if someone is gay or not. and as far as terrible things happening in Muslim countries im not sure i would put it that way i mean terrible things happen in the USA and other places too. i have been to quite a few Muslim countries for long periods and i never had anything terrible happen to me or my sisters. or my brothers now that i think of it? but it could be because i have always been very obedient when i go.

Dont forget recieving 100+ lashes a punishment for being raped.
The marriage of 6 year old girls and subsequent rape at age 9 (as their prophet did in the koran)
The absolute slave like conditions of indians who travel to islamic contries for work (the things ive seen in dubai are despicable)
oh and dont forget - the punishment for apostasy (leaving islam) is death.

How is sex change normal then there? So contradictory country

I just can't imagine being one gender and being forced to see my body change in ways I don't want it to, to have to adopt a gender role I don't want to, to be with someone who wouldn't love me for the real me, and to never again be able to express my true self. Is that really a fun way to live?

Yeah I can understand that. For me being a boy was fun. Way more freedom. I miss it. But from what I have herd from others the dysphoria I guess it's called of not being able to be who you are is unbearable. I always felt bad and still do about how others go through that and I never did. Even no I don't and I adapted. Heck if someone ever was mean to me in Iran and said they were going to make me into a guy I would so jump at the chance to have that penis back. But I'm weird like that
