I wasn't sure about posting this, but i feel that people need to know how the Albany gender clinic work, and what i was told about them when i went to London, and why no matter how much u need to change your gender, you should stay well clear of this clinic.

1) the clinic is connected to the transformation shop across the road,
2) the clinic looks like a dump, inside and out,
3) you will not have been diagnosed with GID, as the lady who does the so cold diagnoses, is NOT a Psychiatrist. It must be a Psychiatrist that is trained in GID,
4) the diagnoses lasts less then 30 mins,
5) you are not given a full physical examination to see if you fit for HRT,
6) they don't talk about the fact that you may one day want kids, so not told that after female HRT you cant have kids after so many months,
7) you don't get a copy of your so called diagnoses,
8. You are then shown a price list. Its £10.000 for three years,
9) you then see the DR their, who does nothing apart from asking you to sign two forms. One to say you've been diagnosed and one to say you want to start treatment, and taking blood,
10) your treatment is  hrt once a day, a T-blocker that does nothing apart from stopping breast growth, and all theses creams that you can buy at their shop. All treatment does nothing,
11) you get checkups every three months but no physical examination,
12) you only get one blood test a year,
13) even when you told them and shown them you've changed your name via deed poll, they still use your old name and new name,
14) once you get to three years with them, they try and make you stay with them, so you'll think you'll change more, but still only on  HRT
15) don't even try to report them, as people have tried and Albany always win.

So now you know never ever go anywhere near this place!!!!

I know nothing about the NHS ( I'm not in the UK), but don't places need some sort of licence to practice? this place sounds like a sex shop pretending to be a clinic!

Sounds Yuk!!

They are registered as a gender clinic, but as they are private, they have nothing to do with our NHS.

If you go to the uk justice.gov.uk web site the clinic is listed but the DR is NOT the one you see at the clinic!!
