Soooo I went to the doc a few months ago and he gave me a script to fill and I just noticed (~3 months later) that the new one (haven't used/opened it yet) is intramuscular and I'm on subcutaneous....  what should I do?   Can I do intramuscular with the same needles as sub?    I mean I'll probably just end up ordering more but its a shame to have wasted the money on hormones that will just end up going bad in my closet.... I'ma try to contact the doc, but its a SUPER busy (sort of pay what you can) type clinic and they take FOREVER to get back to you so I figured I'd ask here....

thoughts?

I do sub and the needles are shorter (5/8 instead of 1" or 11/2" with IM) and you inject them into your stomach close to the belly botton. It does into the fat instead of the muscle. The T is the same I think, though. Just use different needles.

I'm not sure if I understand the situation correctly, but the testosterone is exactly the same for subcutaneous and intramuscular. Sometimes the vials will say "for intramuscular use only" on them, but I've always been on subcutaneous and it's fine. If you've been doing sub and have the needles for that, just continue with that method.

No you can't use the same needles; the needles will be too short to reach the muscle. But you don't need to worry about it, it's the same hormone either way.

Yeah, the new bottle says "For intramuscular use only"  which made me doubt the ability to switch back and for willy nilly....

Thats good to know though.

Thanks guys!

I take depo and it says the same thing on the RX. I use it with subQ with no issues.
