Finding my old TNA wrestling shirt.

Will I ever wear it again?  Probably no time soon.

A happy solstice to you all - what care I that I'm still awake at 4.30 in the morning and listening to the seagulls waking up? :) Well, if I can't sleep at least I can bombard people with well-wishes, innit.

I should go to the beach tomorrow morning and dance naked at sunrise.

You are inspirational  ;)

Being called "Signora" by the female receptionaist when checking out from my hotel in Parma this morning even though I was presenting male. A first for me in Italy and was that a really nice way to start the day! :)

P.S. Apart from that, I think I get more funny looks in Italy than anywhere else I have been over the last couple of years. The Italians stare, something the French do not do at all.

Nice way is right, kudos! I hear that the Italians also like to pinch.  ;)

Last night getting out the bath I grabbed my towel forgetting that it was covering my smartphone. A moment of horror as I watched the arc made by a flying smartphone straight for the water...

..lightning reflexes caught the smartphone as it hit the water with a splash. Dropped the towel in the bath, slipped on the wet bathroom floor, overbalanced, knocking a few cosmetics into the toilet bowl, stubbed my toe on the door on the way out not looking where I was going.. (I was busy separating smartphone from battery, SIM and microSD card.

Plonked it down in front of a fan heater..

..and...

..waited...

..and waited...

Not long back tried the smartphone, got the Android boot screen, did a hard reboot, then a factory reset.

I've lost my text messages but will be able to recover my contacts and applications.

But most importantly my smartphone works again...

.. and I is a happy bunny.

Happy day! It was my day off so I got up super early and biked 30 miles on the Airline Rail Trail  ;D
Found some mountains and tried to take a picture with them, although that didn't work out so well haha.. Can't really see them

I signed the contract for my flat today, I can finally get out of this damn hostel!!

Over the last 6 - 7 months i've had the police out 3 times, twice for transphobic abuse. I've had to put up with no hot water for months, loud music at all hours & people having screaming arguments at all hours.
I've even had to carry one tenant back from the local fields after she was found out cold due to too many prescription tablets & too much booze  ::)

To sum these last few months up I would say it's been hell!

By midday tomorrow i'll be in my new flat & up to my chin in a hot bath, I can't wait.
The only downside is that I won't have a broadband connection for at least a few weeks but it's a small price to pay

Hooray! Isn't it a good feeling? So happy for you.

The weeks will fly by as you're setting everything up.

Here is a snippet of conversation with a friend earlier:

Quote
Friend: btw, your hair looks pretty today
Friend: did you part it differently?

The part is on the same side, but I let it dry differently.  Instead of brushing it out over my ears I instead let it dry behind my ears with a hat on (both to hold it in place and to shade my eyes as I walked to work this morning)
Sometimes I blog things

Of course I'm sane.  When trees start talking to me, I don't talk back.

I'm pleased for you Jayne, you've weathered a lot of adversity and prevailed. Maybe a nice hot soak in a bubble bath is in order?  :)

Sorry for the length, but I have to tell someone about this.

So I'm walking around the downstairs tidying up. I'm wearing a lightweight pink top that shows my body contours well and a gray denim skirt that goes to about two inches above the knees. It's pitch dark outside, so every window acts like a full-length mirror.

And I see this woman staring back at me and I realize that sometime in the past few weeks, I've actually become a woman.

Big deal, you say, this is Susan's. People change their sex all the time.

But, see I've wanted to be female for ALMOST FORTY YEARS. And here I am, not just a woman, but exactly the woman I want to be. I love the way I'm dressed, I love the way my body looks. I hate my face and hair, but what woman doesn't?

I just can't believe that something so amazing has happened. I've actually changed my sex!

At one of the workshops in the Philadelphia Trans Health conference, there was a discussion about the new "Gender Identity Dysphoria" designation. One of the guys commented that he didn't like that, because not all of us experience dysphoria. "Some people," he said, "experience gender EUphoria." His point was  that transition and treatment were just as appropriate for them.

That's definitely they way my transgender manifests itself, as an overwhelming euphoria when I see myself, or some part of myself, looking like the female I should be.

Again, sorry for the length, but I had to share this with someone.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Wow, bravo on saving the phone! Knowing me, I would have been knocked out from hitting my head or something.

Congratulations! There's nothing like getting a new place after being in somewhere horrible.  Mine wasn't as bad but our window air conditioners didn't work well and our studio apartment was always 80 degrees.  And our hot water would go out all the time, right in the middle of my shower.  Imagine my surprise when my searing hot shower became freezing cold.

Suzifrommd, that sounds absolutely wonderful. I am so happy that you feel so good about finally being you. A huge congratulations to you, madame. And may you enjoy your gender euphoria for the rest of your days :)
