I woke up this morning and was still alive. I'm due for bypass surgery next week and feel that each day is a plus. I'm probably being over dramatic but I am really nervous/worried/terrified. So each sunrise is fantastic.

Good luck; hope everything goes well & that you make a quick & full recovery.

What made me happy today? Hm, quite a few things!

Spent the day setting up for my cousins wedding on Saturday
Messing with my mom and granny about my being a whole year older tomorrow (they don't like me growing up and never will lol)
Everyone except my little cousins (they don't really get it) was referring to me as male
Picked up my tux for the wedding! (I'm the bride's best man :D )
Went and got lunch with my cuz, well, cousin's fiancee. (they've been together 8 years, he's already family)
Uhhh... oh! I got to see my cousin who just flew in from being stationed in Japan for 2 years! He's here for a month!

Well then that makes today your birthday! Happy birthday bud!  :icon_birthday: :icon_drunk:

;D I went to find out about filing for getting my new birth certificate changed and found out that I don't need to pay a filing fee, I get to start the procedures today!  ;D So I filed today  ;D I will be going before a judge sometime in the next few months and then getting a birth certificate after that. saves me $350

I had a triple bypass in October 2006.  At the time I was unable to walk from the parking lot into a building without getting winded and having angina.  I earlier had a near fatal ventricular tachycardia while refereeing a soccer game.

I will not kid you, the first few days in cardiac ICU are painful.  Make sure you have a good morphine drip.  I had people around me the first few days, when I did not want to see anybody.  Tell most of them to go away.

But OMG, did it feel good when the Foley catheter came out!  :D

I still have nasty scars on my arm, from where they harvested an artery to re-plumb the heart, and down my sternum.  It ruined my cleavage  >:(

My change in golf swing to compensate for loss of muscle worked well and played golf below my male handicap of 5 - shot a 75. Hadnt done that since HRT - i'll be awesome as a female.
