I still have not settled on a name yet.  Its so very hard to do.   ???

Body... meet brain.  Now follow her lead and there will be no more trouble, you dig?

I suspect I would have been named Donna after my father seeing as my actual birth name is after my mother.
As for a transition name I am thinking Alice or Allison (my sense of humour probably can't pass that up) if not one of those then Julie or Jenifer

First thing that comes to mind would be Jessica or Denise (I don't know why Jessica but it was the first to come to mind)

Gabrielle. I actually quite like the name, but I have a friend named Gabby and wanted something different. Also being named James my whole life, I had gotten quite attached to the letter J.

I've asked my mom a few times over the years. My name would have been Jennifer. That's the name she always had in mind, since she was little.

Except she says by the time I was born she got so sick of hearing that name she might have named me something else instead. It's kinda sad actually. That was her favorite name. I would have been happy with it. :)

Too bad I never had a sister. I always wanted a sister. She would have had my name. :)

Gabrielle is a beautiful name. I love strong feminine names like that. So graceful. So alluring.

I have two younger sisters, so I imagine I would have had one of their names.

When my wife was expecting our youngest daughter, we knew she was a girl.  We could not decide on a name, so we each made a ranked list of ten names.  Then we compared the two lists.  We had one near-match.  My wife had suggested "Page," whereas I suggested "Paige."

We named her Emily.  Go figure!

I would of gotten the same name, Jamie. My parents wanted to give me a unisex name, though now Jamie is a predominantly female name in the states. Hence, the name change.

My mom was kind of bummed I guess at first when she heard I had chosen Jennifer and that it had already been solidified by my friends.

That's when I discovered I could use her name as my middle name... Elizabeth. That made everything a-ok, and I love the way they sound together :)

Jennifer Elizabeth is very cute. :)

If/when I transition I'm pretty much stuck with Ruth as my middle name because it was my grandmother's name. I was born on her birthday so they gave me her maiden name as my middle name. I want to keep the gesture alive and take her first name as my new middle name. But it's a little... old school. lol

But it's the thought that counts, right? It means a lot to me to keep it.

Jillian Ruth isn't very cute, but it's me. So it's all good. ;D

I can't tell you because it's my real name! Lol, I knew what it was since I was young. I used to joke around with my brother and say "I got the cool name, you got the stupid name!" I can't tell you the stupid name because it's not stupid, lol, but I don't want to offend. I love my name, mostly because it fits, but also because it was the name that should have been on my ORIGINAL birth certificate :)

Wow that is pretty great Meghan! I knew that I would have been named Leah at an early age... And despite having confusingly strong daydreams about living as Leah instead, the name just never suited me.

I feel like I just cracked open a time capsule memory bank... I just realized 3 more connections into the early stages of my dysphoria.

Neat! Okay time for bed :)

And by the way, Meghan.... I've seen your videos and I have to say: your name suits you sooo well! I love it.

I was curious about this so I checked with my sister. For some reason, I always thought I would have been named Mary, but turns out I would have been named Erica. I'm not really fond of that name.

My mom said, we never thought of a male name for you, we KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO BE A GIRL.

lame!

Take this and reverse it for me - my mother was single - I was the product of rape - she was sure I was "a boy" she was WRONG! and had only picked out one name never even considered any other  :P
