Hi, My name is Jorge. I'm a transgender teen who has troubled my own family with this problem to this day. I was just a young kid back when i first figured out about gay and lesbians and thought to myself what happens if someone wanted to be a girl/guy? It took me around 3 hours of searching in the internet to find out that there were people who believe they weren't born in the right body. I soon realized how much i hated this body and how i wasn't a girl. One day I dreamed of becoming a girl... It made me cry so much i couldn't stop for over 3 hours. I then started to hate everything around me including my family. I couldn't take much of this anymore so i thought about killing myself because of always living a lie from the start. For years i have been playing League of Legends to avoid those thoughts. I have just been through therapy and have decided to transition into a girl.

Only problem is that i cant seem to find a support group in southern California..

Thanks!

Hi Jorge,

Welcome from South Australia, there are lots of Cali's on the board so someone should help with support sites.

Oh and you are among people who totally understand what you are going through.

My parents had the mistaken impression I was a guy.

I wasn't, I'm not and I live very happily as a shy retiring lady of genteel past times (don't worry about trying to understand , there may be some comments!!)

Hugs and Welcome

Welcome to Susan's, Jorge! :)

Already going through therapy is a really good start. The road ahead of you isn't easy but it is very fulfilling. Remember, don't be a stranger.  ;)

Hi Jorge, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 6873. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

Jorge, there are several support groups based in Los Angeles and Hollywood.

Closer to you there is a LGBT social group

Welcome and hang in there! I'm not from CA so I can't recommend anything there (Sorry) but I would like to say a few things that I hope you'll always remember, especially at your most desperate hr of need. I don't know you or your family but no matter how alone you think you are or may feel, you're never TRUELY alone. Believe it or not but people do care about you. (Even total strangers) Sure killing yourself may seem like an answer but I assure you, it is NOT an answer at all. Life can be pretty tough but life is also something that we should cherish and can be a lot of fun too. If you ever need to reach out and talk to someone then do so! Never hold it in for that wouldn't help you at all and talking about your problems can REALLY help you a lot. If you need to cry, then cry. That helps too but remember, never give up! Stay strong and hang in there! Also glad to hear you're in therapy that is REALLY good.

Hihi Jorge, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm in the opposite side of the country, near Boston. When Cindy says shy and retiring, that means she breathes fire and likes to use branding irons on humans. (Apparently legal in Australia!) See you around the site, hugs, Devlyn

Hi levitikos! Welcome to the forum!

A lot of us are from California. I'm not, but I was born there. I hope that we here will be able to help you choose what's the best for you!
