Hello everyone, I find topics like these quite uplifting, and I'm amazed that there seems to be such genuine concern & so many helpful comments, especially in a time when internet forums can be filled with lots of trolls and troublemakers. I just though I'd say this, as I'm genuinely impressed.

Anywho, I thought I'd post on this forum as despite being currently Androgyne - I acknowledge that I would faaaaaar prefer looking female than male. I've preferred to look female since I was 13, however I was too frightened to explore that wish and what it might mean until recently. Annie whey, this is me right now - My features tend to look VERY different in different lights, hence the different photos. No hormones or intervention. There's no processing on these photos. There's a light powder on my skin for the first three shots, eyeliner and I've shaved as close as I can.

What are your thoughts please? Thanks for your time btw!

Zowie, I think you are just darling, love the dress on you. You are seriously female through and through, better run with it sweetie!

Oh thank you Shantel  :) Like the best surprise-buys, I found it at a thrift shop. Its all about the maxi-dresses! I love them. Thank you for the comment about looking female too, its cheered me up. I hope you've had a good evening too.  Despite liking a lot about being male, I feel this massive happy rush if someone says that I look female or feminine. I don't understand why I feel like this, it makes absolutely no sense  :P

QuoteActually, being trans would be great news! It would explain decades of confusion and give me a path forward of hope and excitement.

That statement rings a bell with me - it would be "great" news to know I'm not going nuts, and be able to pinpoint and explain exactly why I've had certain feelings & wishes for years (although perhaps the actual technical aspect of transition would most likely be quite scary and upsetting). I'm quite a pessimist when it comes to myself  ;D
There are no more barriers to cross... But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis... I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.

BTW, if nothing else, as a guy you are totally hot! And hot guys make hot girls!

You know, I have found that to be very true.

Stella, you have such lovely eyes...cliche time, lol, but they really are like big pools one could dive into.

Natalie D, you make me want to post pictures of myself - but I think its hard to tell how we will look. But from what I've gathered if your pretty attractive as a guy you actually look pretty attractive as a girl.

I know this is one of my bigger concerns with transitioning if I will like the way I look as a female. I don't think my male-self is ugly but I don't think most would call me hot  :embarrassed:, then again I have pretty low self-confidences all my life.  ;D

@Stella, in the big pic you look like the real deal female! Love the hair and your dress is gorgeous. As you say petite, same here. Should you transition you are going to have the Wow factor!

Good to see you have gotten involved here with quite a few posts.
Enjoy

It is time to get more serious now. So this is kinda mix between "do I look female" and "do I pass" - I kinda think that I dont, but I would like to know where are my current flaws.

I'd say yes and no. You look very androgynous right now. But with longer hair and more feminine clothes you would totally pass. If I were told that you are female and wouldn't know anything trans of you, I'd buy it already. If I wasn't I'd probably try to avoid using pronouns when talking to you.

They said that I look neither male or female but androgynous. I'm not hyperfeminine, but I think I lean more towards female.
Just got home, here's how I look tonight.

I'd say the same as you do. But I can understand why the support group chose androgynous. You don't use very feninine clothing, you have some tattoo which might be more "agressive" and the forum can't hear your voice.

That said, with more feminine clothing you'd absolutely pass. And I'd wear the glasses; in my eyes it's more feminine with them.

Thanks for the comments :-) My face is rather masculinised, but I get the odd "are you male?" question from kids or older people, so do I look a bit androgynous sometimes too, or not? Ultimately I'd need FFS for forehead and nose, adam's apple and forehead, but I would hope that I'd get some `sort of HRT benefit.

Thank ye, I do wonder that my eyes will make me appear more like Gollum when I'm older though. I'd better stop my hair loss or I most likely will be a dead-ringer for Gollum. Could be a money-maker though...

Haha, yes "petite" is a much more charming way of saying "short". Way to go for having a confidence boost. Saying "petite" is much more agreeable. I am curious as to what could happen with female fat distribution of one is petite though, the slowing of metabolism worries me, as I love to go for runs...umm...but I also have a massive weakness for sugar. Boh. And frothy coffees, anyone else?

Thank you, I'm usually a lurker when it comes to forums, and I can't think what to say, but on here it feels easier to raise a topic or to contribute to someone else's.

Thanks PiaBianca, I guess most people have something they feel the most confident & attractive in :-) I think I definitely look male in the big picture, shoulders, arms and lower facial musculature, but perhaps these would change. I don't know if I'd ever take a full dose of HRT so on a low-dose, perhaps the changes might be mostly internal. It's hard to know where each person's "biting-point" may be - that slight physical change that tips the balance from male to female in the eyes of people, and how much HRT or FFS to get to that point.

There are no more barriers to cross... But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis... I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.

@Joanna
Thanks for the hints! Really, I cant do much with my hair now - the style I tried in pics is the closest to something I would call feminine :P - apart of tying it in a tail behind, of course, but pics would not show that. It is getting really thick and biotine increases the growth, but its... slow :P. And I am 100% believer of everything natural so I am not at all into this whole wigs affair. Not at all.
It is funny that everyone referred to my male presentation :) - because that jacket is female - stole it from my ex's wardrobe. It is female S, so it was kinda tight, or maybe its color was the issue? ;) When I am out on the streets with outfit like this, I keep getting double looks and stares - mostly from middle aged men.
Makeup, yep. I am going to move out sometime soon in the next month or something, so when all the crying will be over, I will start practicing with makeup more. So far, I have only mastered (or rather apprenticed :P ) mascara and feel quite comfortable with it. Currently, I am just not doing it to avoid unnecessary tensions with those I am living together.
Awww and that very last personal comment made me smile a lot :).

@PiaBianca
You totally made my day :). <3

Thank you Bardoux! Its a dress from a Japanese fashion called "EGL", Victorian and Rococo influences.

I've got a very bony face, how can one tell whether HRT will do anything?

Michelle 666 - I think you look overtly female in your picture, as a whole. I would have said at first looks that you are a very tomboyish female with an androgynous presentation and a - quite pleasing - mixture of masculine/feminine features. Your face shape with large cheeks than lower jaw, large open eyes, and seemingly no hairline recession (and full hair) made me not notice the more masculine lips and stubble when making my assumption. That's pretty damn good going!

It will definitely soften it up! And those cheekbones.... OMG, I thought my were great, but Yours.... /me jealous

In this pic You do remind me of Starbuck from the BSG. Yep, very much of her :)

Me today, can't wait for my hair to grow and to lose the beard shadow :(

You certainly could pass for female, nice face, everything about you is nice. The beard will have to go and you'll need a tracheal shave to reduce the adam's apple. Great eyebrows, just a lot of little tweaking and longer hair with a nice style and you'll be good to go.

Emily - Thank ye, I'm sure you have equally as prominent cheekbones though! I really like your jacket in profile pic btw. To me it looks female as male jackets almost always fall below the hips, too. My cheekbones seem to be a good feature of my face perhaps, but without anything to hang on them, I kinda look rather ill and jagged I guess. What does HRT do to the face in general?

Alice in genderland - amazing eyes, very clear and bright!!

Thanks!  I'm iffy about the tracheal shave, last I heard it was a very risky procedure.

Thanks, I really like my eyes too, you can't tell except up close but they actually have some yellow streaks in them so my eyes look green in certain light.

Not risky at all, people do it all the time and have excellent results. If you want to present female and show an adams apple you have just outed yourself.

Aww, thanks :) You are complaining that there is nothing to hang on Your cheekbones, so that is the HRT is going to take care about :). Putting fat on them and rounding them up :). And with that extra fat and meat on Your cheekbones You should be looking extremely hot ;). Also that will smooth down Your jawline, which looks very feminine to me too.

Really? I have a visible adams apple.. And I pass just fine - and that's not my opinion, it's my experiences..

Shan, I thought you of all people would avoid such blanket statements, I'm disappointed..

But Kelly, women don't have an adam's apple. That's not to say all man have prominent or visible adam's apples but if someone was to look closely for whatever reason, seeing an adam's apple settles the matter that you were born male.

i heard you can have your adams apple raised up which not only hides it but also increases the pitch of your voice
things can only get better

I guess that means my mother, aunt and grandmother must have all been men..

And my uncle who lacks one must be a woman..

EDIT: See what I mean about blanket statements?
