I just replaced the link to the French version of the description to the English version (at first I hadn't even noticed that is was French..). I suggest you try it and tell me afterwards if you still approve... ;)

Looks good except for the cheese curd. Sounds yummy with Bacon or Lobster.

Hi Beth,
The problem is that without the melted cheese curd it would no longer be a Poutine, would it? . It is also because of this unique mixture of French fries, smoked meat, gravy and melted cheese curds that it is so revolting. Adding lobster to such a mess would in my mind be almost criminal. Just give me the lobster and i'm happy to leave the rest of it to anyone else... :P

That being said, in the middle of the bitterly cold Québec winter, I can just about see how such a dish might make sense. It was over 30°C on a July evening when I tried it!  :)
Hugs
Donna

First, that looks horrible, lol.  Second, we should all be vegetarians and hug the trees. I suggest it be mandatory. Come on everyone join me in the vegetarian utopia!  ;)

Yeah, um, I'd love to, but I'm in the middle of a meatloaf sandwich!

Talk about topic drift :)

As usual, I think that with sufficient research you will find that the world specialists in continental drift and all variants of the said, our friendS (no, not ONLY Cindy) from down under, might just be at the origin of the phenomenon... ;)

Drifting down a river of poutine and pea soup.....in a meat pie boat and french fry oars.

Feel free to talk about the revolting regional dishes, but can we stop the pictures?  It's one thing to almost vomit when I read the words, but actually seeing it...

You can still report us. Of course, we're all busy eating regional delicacies, so it may be awhile until an Investigating Officer shows up!  ;D

The meat pie floaters?  Absolutely.  In one end and out the other!

I'm not sure you're using the word "delicacies" correctly.

Everything shown in this thread looks like something only "tasty" at midnight on a Friday after countless beers.

Probably tastes as good coming up as going down, right?

Wow! Does your avatar have to look at my post with such disdain?

French Canadian cuisine is not easy to relate to, but then a lot of things Canadian seem to mystify non Canadians.

Our butter tarts for instance, ahh the wonder of all that sugar, and we also have sugar pies. And recently Lays made for us Maple Moose flavoured potato chips, yes, the taste of maple flavoured moose meat on a potato chip. Me I like to sip maple syrup right out of the bottle.

It isn't likely easy being a diabetic in Canada.
Well being TG is no treat, but becoming separated has sure caused me more trouble that being TG ever will be. So if I post, consider it me trying to distract myself from being lonely, not my needing to discuss being TG. I don't want to be separated a lot more than not wanting to be male looking.

It's impossible to have a problem with anyone sensible enough to enjoy a meatloaf sandwich.

OMG, I soooo want to live in Canada.

(And while my avatar may have been looking at your posts with disdain, Devlyn Marie, it's looking at Lesley_Roberta's revelation with absolute awe.)
