.......and I've organised to go to a friend's and get it signed this evening after work. I haven't seen them for a while and they don't know, so it's a 'coming out' evening!!!!

Oh, I don't think I posted anywhere else on here that I came out to the majority of my close family on Sunday. What a huge relief, and they all took it VERY well. After I left I got various texts of support from my sis and nephew etc. :)

After years of fear and unhappiness, I so wish I could have done all this sooner. I'm on cloud 9 now!!!

Almost legally,
Matt

Congrats! That is so wonderful. The most important thing to keep in mind is that pronouns take time to adjust to. But as long as they are obviously supportive then you should be fine. See? Once you come out it isn't such a big deal! I'm very happy for you. Yay for all these changes that really do seem to be coming rapidly!

Thanks Nick, and yes it is all happening very quickly. Was a long time coming though at 39, when I've felt like this every single day since I was 4 or 5 years old. Emotionally I've moved along quickly as it just seems to be unfolding in me quite naturally, and the further I go the easier it seems to be :)

Yeah, I'm not actually fussed about pronouns. It's who I am that counts, not what someone says. I can see how for many it's a tough area and when people get it wrong it really digs in for them (so not saying anything against that) but for me I am happy for it to happen when it happens. My sis and nephew have already been laughing about how difficult that will be and that they will slip up. My nephew says he won't change the name on his phone yet, as if I call him and a friend hands it to him when it says 'Matt calling' and he then goes oh, it's my Auntie!! All this was said in a very light hearted laughing way. I really think I will laugh off moment such as that. You have to or it's all too stressful.
