If you like funny adventure games, check out Edna & Harvey: The Breakout. It's not quite as good as Monkey Island (what is!) but it's pretty funny, especially if you have a dark sense of humor.

(If you do play it, make sure to talk to everything. That's where some of the best lines are -- when Edna is just being her cute lunatic self. )

Probably the leader of the Third Street Saints (with Laura Bailey's voice acting, of course).  Intelligent, sarcastic, strong, and as snappy of a dresser as you want her to be.

Sonic is right up there, though.  Sonic 1 was my very first video game, and I've liked every* game more than the last.  Colors was the best Saturday morning cartoon I've ever played, and Generations was pure designer brilliance.

*errrmmmm...I was in a "deep coma" throughout 2006.  Sonic skipped that year as well, right?  RIGHT!?

Mine is Cloud from FFVii. So messed up and complex I really identified with him in a sense of his journey to find out who he really was. Awesome game as well!!

It's hard to choose - there are some great characters in many games. But off the top of my head...

1. Alistair from Dragon Age Origins - I loved that game, and he was one of my favourite characters. He was so funny.

2. Bellegar the Wizard from Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga

3. Mordin Solus from Mass Effect 2 & 3
[Commander Shepard: You planning to stick around when this is over?
Mordin Solus: Until Reapers dealt with, at least. Then... not sure. Have made impact on galaxy. [Spoilers removed] ... Might go somewhere sunny. Sit on beach, look at ocean, collect seashells.
Commander Shepard: You'd go crazy inside an hour.

4. Steiner from Final Fantasy IX

I've always been in love with carbuncle from the final fantasy series. I loved his design as an esper in ff3(VI), and just fell in love with how he looked on ffxi. Omg I was so EXCITED when I finally got my summoners job

I loved SMN too, Bijou. I'm definitely enjoying it in FFXIV as well =D

I would say my favorite is Rayne from the BLOODRAYNE serie's (the games not the movies, the movies sucked)

Naija, from aquaria. there's just something... pure about her curiosity. the drive that keeps her going, aside, i guess, from the player's need to find the next plot point.

Played both of the Edna & Harvey games. Lili (the second games protagonist) is quite unique too, but i loved Edna's cleverness and biting humor.

Don't understand why she hates ALF though.

Elise is my other favorite, from Tales of Xillia.

Cerwiden is rapidly becoming one of my favourite game characters by virtue of the things she comes out with being either so out of place (yearning for an espresso with chocolate sprinkles in the land of Skyrim), or so bad they're funny (singing the bard songs with totally the wrong words and then apologising for how bad it is, lmao). She's endearing. Considering she's a mod, she's a cut above most of the companions you can get in the game (with the possible exception of Serana, although Serana is kinda more annoying and whiny than charming).

This could take some time so ive decided to break it down into the series that the characters are from. Leon S Kennedy, Ada Wong, Claire Redfield, Hunk, Chris Redfield from the Resident Evil series. Link, Zelda and Midna from the Legend of Zelda series. Fox, Falco, Wolf and Slippy from Star Fox. Becky Shepherd, Garaus, Grunt,  and Joker from Mass Effect. Trish, Dante and Virgil From Devil May Cry. I will have more but im very sleepy so ill finish this tomorrow.
