Darkie

A little...nervous to post this..but here goes nothing.  Just cut my hair.

My friend said that when I dress like a girl I might get considered a MTF.  Not sure if that is true, but oh well.  I had to get something that my SO wouldn't freak out about.  Plus they styled it girly, maybe I can style it boyish.

I think your face passes great, you have very masculine features but I agree with Nick that it's the hair that lets you down a bit. However, that being said, it does have the potential to be pulled off as a rock kind of cut and look masculine. It reminds me a bit of Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso. It can go either way, but there's a lot of potential with it :)

You do kinda look like an early in transition MTF, Darkie. It would depend entirely on your voice imo. The hair is a little feminizing, but if you had a deep enough voice I think you could pass as a young man.

My mom said in some pictures you can tell I'm a girl. Is that true?

I've decided to show a few. Sorry.

I'd put the 2nd pic as a slight maybe, and maybe 4th for hips/thighs, but only if one knew to look for it if you know what I mean. It can be hard for parents to really tell though. Regardless of how they accept you now, they're always going to see a little of the old you. Even friends who've known you all your life will be the same. But for someone who didn't know you pre-T I can't see them seeing a thing feminine!

And I'd maybe stress to your mum to use female/feminine over girl. You're obviously not a girl; merely born female.
  •

Adam (birkin)

I think your mum is just holding on to the past. As Jack said, in the 4th you can kinda see that you have bigger hips and whatnot...perhaps without seeing your face you could be gendered female...but with that face and that facial hair, it's all male. Anyone who thought you were a girl at this point would be very ignorant.

Darrin, were you the one who had gendering issues, even with all that facial hair? If so, I still don't understand how that could happen. The only picture in which I might see some 'girl' is the second one, but that is probably because you're so clean shaven. If I wasn't biased, as in, if I had no clue that your gender was being questioned, then I would definately just gender you male.

And yeah, the hips in the fourth picture don't help, but they are not overly obvious. They do match your overall appearance.

Brody, I have no advice for you. You look like a dude to me. But then again, you do manage to cover up a lot of parts, such as your eyes and hair, so it is very hard to judge.

I have been 17 weeks on T now, and I am sure I still do not pass. At least not voice wise. But what about my face 'n such? I need honest opinions, so I made a short video today and was wondering what you guys think. Also, I am a very shy person, so I'll likely remove the video in a couple of days. Do note that English is not my first language, so if I use some words wrongly then I be vewwi, vewwi sowwi.

Alright I will throw out a few things I notice

Your glasses seem to emphasize or make your chin seem more narrow and feminine. Maybe try a smaller pair.
Your hat throws me off a bit too. It also seems a bit too big which makes your face smaller / more feminine.
Your piercing I think is a bit femininizing - i know i know, plenty of guys have them but I think it is feminine and until you pass 100 percent it might be wise to keep jewelry to a minimum
I think your necklace is also feminizing and your shirt is too big.

I think i can sum up by saying "too many and too big accesories"

Geez, I know that seems super critical, but I want to set you straight rather than blow smoke.

One major positive i will point out is that your overall facial  shape and features are manly in my opinion. So show it off some more instead of covering it with hats and glasses and jewelry.

Mr. X I think you pass pretty darn well.  Your voice may not be very low but it does have a bit of male resonance to it, I'm 3 months on T injections and my voice has drastically shifted so you might not be far away!

I'd say full on pass, but, like most of us, you look young.  I'd say maybe 15/16 taking into account youthful features and voice.  When your voice deepens a bit more, maybe a bit older but I think looking young is a curse turned benefit as we age anyway.  I'll probably embrace the youthful looks more when I have actual male ID.  Right now I HATE looking young because it means always having to show ID and it's still in the dreaded F!  Haha!

I agree with Chuck with regards to what might work better for you Brody.

Thanks! and thanks all!

I think as fa as the hips go. I really don't have them. I just have severe love handles.

And to whoever thought I was being misgendered still. You have me confused with someone else. I pass 100% in real life.

Darrin, you got some enviable facial hair going on!
Still waiting for some facial hair myself...

Instead, I got acne that got some boost when I quit smoking. So, believe it when they say that smoking holds T's effects back. It really does.

I bet in a couple of hours from right now you will be watching Shingeki no Kyojin given your avatar. Can't wait - usually comes out this time on Saturday afternoons.

You pass to me.

Indeed I will. :D Should be only about an hour or so now... That's past 2am here. :B

Thanks for the replies, Jack and Emily!

I will definately try the chewing gum thing. It can't hurt. I am also still waiting for any fat to redistribute, so in time my face might look less fat. It could also be the testosterone making it a chubby, so I'm hoping it'll go down in time. Thanks for the tip, though.

My voice has lowered a lot, but I'm glad it is already at the border of passing. I thought it wasn't even close. So thanks for the feedback!

And yeah, I figured I look young, especially due to my height. Surprisingly, I don't get carded very often. A long time ago I had to buy a bottle of strong booze, and was ready to get my driver's license out, but the guy behind the counter said it wasn't needed. I was curious, so I asked him why not. He said it was the way I carried myself. So I think I'll be doing okay in that department.

If I saw you and heard you on the street. I wouldn't think anything other than you are a 17 year old guy. Pass 100% for me.
