The last two nights I went to the East Mississauga Community Health Center support groups. Wednesday is a once monthly meeting for trans people & Thursday is for everyone in the whole spectrum a larger group that meets more regularly at once a week. I like that there is a weekly meeting that is more immediate if you want to talk about something. Anything that was discussed is like the expression, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." The trans group two people went to a cd club I went to in Toronto so a bit in common & one knows a friend of mine I met there she is about 45 to 50 & closest to my age so I am the oldest in the group. Most are in the 20 to 30 age range. Wednesday some of the people asked my to joining them at a Tim Horton's which I did. Some of them have known each other for a year or more so there was a lot of chatter, they tease each other & lots of laughter around. Looking forward to us getting to know each other more.

Sounds like a good time was had by all!

@Caleb, authenticated at school, a big positive for life ahead. Congratulations!

@FTMDiaries, male aggressiveness seizes the moment and you got "sir." Smooth move, well done.

Indeed, a sigh of relief. Thursday there was an outsider that is working on presentation on lgbt awareness to a school board, probably accidental but used some terms that stepped on some sensitive toes. The facilitator instincts & sensitivity sensed triggers for some & when the formal session was over asked those affected to stay if they wanted to stay & air out their issues. Me being new I offered to leave if they felt not knowing me would hold them back. Nicely I was welcomed to stay. It was an emotionally charged atmosphere. The facilitator said the group could continue the discussion next Thursday with the usual open format. I listened & it was a real learning experience for me.

Got an androgynous haircut today, afraid that my husband would freak out from it.  Turns out he loves it! And he hasn't noticed that I'm binded cause I have a large sweatshirt on.  I'm on cloud nine right now.

So I just had a quick chat with Rick Sternbach ( Designer who worked on many of the Star Trek shows) and we discussed the fighter model I was building. He had nice things to say....

Rick: Okay, very cool as an atmospheric ship or impulse-only vehicle, as well as something warp capable. The warp nacelles seem, to me, to want to be either completely perpendicular to the wings or completely vertical. Something about the 45 degree angle feels a little off. Might just be me. Otherwise, pretty believable as a Starfleet ship.If those are weapon bays, they're also very cool. Very F-117A. As far as the landing gear is concerned, any small Starfleet craft with impulse needs nothing more than small footpads, since the hover capabilities of your typical impulse engine means it really won't be translating forward much. Something like the pads I did on the Delta Flyer or speedboat shuttle are enough.

Me: I mainly wanted to design something that looked Starfleet but was different from what we have seen before, like with the Delta Flyer.

Rick: Yup. Okay to have a recognizable lineage.

So, I guess it's a thumbs up with one of the top Star Trek Designers. I really couldn't be any happier than that.

I bought a bunch of flannels, a few striped sweatshirts, some size 6 Vans, and a permanent hair removal kit.  I'm hoping that'll be enough to hit the "andro" line, but it feel pretty nice either way.

Threw a pack of girl jammies in the cart at BJ's (wholesale club ~ e.g. Costco). They fit OK... XL means the top fits perfectly and the bottoms are just a bit too big (but with a drawstring, who cares).

They're AWESOME. So much better than boy jammies. The only down side is I'll need to switch them out before heading out into the rest of the house (neighbors, etc.).

...You should market this.  "Have a spider problem?  Call Malachite.  He'll blast the suckers."

I checked the mail today & found a letter from the gender clinic asking my GP to start me on HRT ASAP!!!
I'll be trotting off to the surgery to get them to take a photocopy on Monday morning as it's quicker than waiting for them to scan it onto the computers to pass on to the GP, I should be starting HRT in the next week or two, party time!!!

I just heard someone call someone a "cheese eating sideways monkey" on the show my SO is watching.  That is one of the best names I've ever heard.

I had fun too. :) and I showed him how to get some xbox games free.

I may be helping to restore the Enterprise D Bridge through my graphics work. There is a project to restore the set and have it set up so you can film your own scenes for fan movies, have weddings on the Bridge and teach science to children. The panels will be interactive at some point too.

My name has been submitted to the board of directors for consideration.
