Hi,
Wanted to know if anybody else experienced this. I had to use my credit card to pay for top surgery, so I had to increase the limit on my card. (They would not give me a temporary advance or something like this.) Anyway, I had a really high score (like 740) and it has gone down. Nothing crazy but something like 692.) I don't recall any recent late payments or anything like that, so I'm wondering if the name change did something to it. This was Experion. I don't think they ran any of the other three agencies. I did get the limit increase, so there isn't any problem. I read that this is a good score but nothing to write home about.

Just speculation on my part; but it sounds like it may be more a function of your percentage of used credit.  If you had say cards that had a total of $10k limits before and had balances totaling say $1k you're only at 10%.  But let's say your top surgery was $10k so your limit was bumped up by that amount - well now you'd be using $11k out of $20k for 55% and that would definitely lower a credit score.  Additionally, if they ran a credit check prior to granting the increase that can also lower the score as well.

Just my two cents.
