You come across a thread with a lot of replies, how many do you view before and after posting?

I usually scan them all with the exception of the fun type threads. I figure if I'm going to comment on it, I should know what's been posted and the direction it has gone in before my sorry butt came along.

Of course, a lot of topics I read but may never post in.

Xhianil -

I have a little different requirement.  When moderating, I usually glance at every new topic (well, I try at least) and look in detail at the problematic ones.

On the "game" and "fun" topic, I skip to the end.

I read the first page and if it's interesting, the last page. I never read the middle pages because after that point it normally gets redundant.

Really interesting threads, I try to read all there is unless it's really long. Otherwise, first and last posts and as much background as I need to understand both.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?
