I had to call the dmv this morning and gave my old name because that is what the title of the car is under... Anyway- later on in the call, they addressed me as ma'am twice. Pretty funny slip on on their part (if I actually were male) and it kinda made my day :)

Well with that new voice why would that say anything otherwise? I couldn't imagine talking to you on the phone under any circumstances and think "Guy" it would be nuts!

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone!

Aww, I love your little bedroom!  Sad you have to sleep down there but at least you have a cute little place to relax with your little friend! I sleep with a Fennec Fox every night named Fenrir.

It's sad... an end of an era, but it's also for the best. I was in denial for a while over losing my best friend... but I'm very hopeful for a future as friends with her! It would be tough to manage, but there's always the chance this arrangement could be permanent, which is something I'd love despite the difficulties.

This is supposed to be a happy thread, though... Optimism does not qualify!

Berry is very comforting, AND she helps the kids come to an understanding about me. My 4 year old is convinced the bear is a boy in a skirt... I tell her otherwise.

Berry makes the point that the little ones can more readily understand and assimilate, hopefully they will be able to transfer that concept to understand what has happened to daddy. Like the bedroom too, very cute!

My mom is coming to pick me up in an hour and we are going to the Celtic Highland games! Food, vendors, dancing, etc.  Should be fun!

Agreed! I think having Berry was a really great idea to help the kids understand.

Thanks! It just came to me as we were playing with the old stuffed animals. I remember being jealous of my wife's choices for her bear... so I figured Barry needed the same sort of change in his life.

Unfortunately the transition process is much quicker for a teddy bear than for a girl like me... :D But Berry is a lot happier now!

Yup, when I lived in Calif, particularly in the beach towns it was fairly common to call girls guys or dudes, if you called them a Babe or Chick or Honey or a few other feminine terms they'd take as a sexist thing and get all pissed off

Examples given - "Hey, what are you guys up to?" "Right on dude"
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I am now a proud parent of a Gen 1 Firefly toy!  For those who don't know what that is:

I used to have tons of these....they were my favorite toys in the late 80s, early 90s.
Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

I wasn't really able to have them when I was little, I would go to this girl's house during the summers when I stayed with my grandparents and we would play with them.  I had forgotten all about that.

Opening more to friends one at a time about my physican change of gender. Most are happy & supportive. I plan to open to all regardless & if some "do not like it" I could care less. Since I live fulltime as a woman I just do not want unpleasant "friends" calling me or dropping by to see me. If they are OK with my life they are very welcome & we can all have fun together.

It's way past time I went through all my "friends" & sorted out those I want & enjoy.

mtF, mid 50's, always a girl since childhood, HRT (Spiro, E & Fin.) since 8-13. Hormone levels are t at 12 & estrogen at 186. Face lift & eye lid surgery in 2014. Abdominoplasty/tummy tuck & some facial surgery May, 2015. Life is good for me. Love long nails & handsome men! Hopeful for my GRS & a nice normal depth vagina maybe by late summer. 5' 8", 180 pounds, 14 dress size, size 9.5 shoes. I'm kind of an elegant woman & like everything pink, nice & neet. Love my nails & classic Revlon Red. Moving back to Florida, so excited but so much work moving
