<3 -- I am another one who will not laugh at the problem you have. I have a child who struggles with that addiction, and when I began my alcohol / script meds addiction therapy 5 years ago, there were two people in different sessions of a group I was part of with sex addiction. During that 9 month therapy program, they showed some brain scans of people with a variety of addictions, and sex showed up as bright in response and in the same place as a couple of chemical addictions. The term I was taught for sex addiction is that it is a process addiction but as you said just as damning as Crack, Meth or alcohol. You have taken the best step for recovery, and that is by admitting it for what it is.
