Heya!
I'm Mari (legal name is Simon) from the UK and I'm 18, studying History at university.
The story of my gender identity has not been a straightforward path to where I am now - first I inherited my parents' intrinsic distaste of anything that is sexually 'irregular', then went through an odd political spasm to the far right during my mid-teens. The last two years have therefore been spent catching up with myself and trying figure out exactly who I am. One important element of that has been realising that the very strong feelings that I would rather be female are not part of a short-term phase.
I met my girlfriend about a year and a half ago and she has been very helpful in comforting and encouraging me. She calls me Mariah, uses female pronouns and encourages me to wear more 'feminine' clothing which is much-needed anaesthetic.
So over the next few years I might start to take some steps, however small, in the right direction!
In my personal life I am into modern British and ancient Chinese history, but my main area is Scandinavian history

. I can't get enough of Formula 1 (my favourite driver is Felipe Massa), and I listen to a ridiculous amount of Motörhead!
