Finally got a December 5 court date assigned in California to legally change name and gender on my birth certificate and drivers license. I do have a bit of anxiety about this, but I'm also very happy the legal stuff is finally going to be over. The anxiety stems from having done so much in transition, and the build-up of emotions from looking forward to the name change so much. I've been through a lot to get to this point, and a lot of other girls have told me about the let-down that comes a day or so after the court date and judgement. I'm hoping for relief, and nothing else.
Then after the court date I'll have two months max to get, or fix a new Social Security card, credit cards, bank accounts, and our Living Trust and Will. A lot of these require paperwork to go to State Offices in the Sacramento area (40 miles away from our home). AND I HATE PAPERWORK.
Oh great, it just started snowing a little. And in the bigger town about 5 miles away where I'm working every day there's a lot of college students who can barely drive in dry weather. Something else to worry about.
