Spacerace, to me you pass. In the last two photos you look 14, in the first you look a bit older, but I do think you pass. Keep in mind we cannot see your mannerisms and the way you present yourself.

Spacerace, unfortunately I have to disagree with the others. In the first picture you don't pass to me at all, but the second you do, and there seems something a little off in the last picture, but if had to gender you I'd put you as male. Bearing in mind that I'm more conscious of gendering people correctly now that I know there are people like us out there who are deliberately trying to present as a specific gender, and that the average person would probably just go for their first impressions and go for male.

I think better fitting clothes might help, although I know that's hard, but sometimes I feel that when we wear bigger clothes it makes it easier for  people see us as butch women who can't be bothered to dress up. Mannerisms go a long way as well, and we can't see those. Honestly, they go a huge way, someone I recently met told me after I came out to her that although I'm pretending to be female, and she's been told that I am by my job, my mannerisms made her fairely sure that I was a trans man.

I also think that there might be a difference in how people from different countries look, because a few times I've noticed that American people look different to average British ones and that I would say they didn't pass when everyone else says that they do one hundred percent. I also know a butch woman who looks similar to you in hair and facial structure which throws me off too, so take what I say with a pinch of salt and wait for the T to do its stuff.

Hi Markus!

Welcome to Susans :) I'd say you pass with a big A+

I see you have some facial hair coming in. Been on T long? either way the results are great!

Thank you Shaina, I have been on T for about a year now, but not consistently.
Also may I say, assuming that is yourself in your picture, that you look stunning ;)

Wow those are great results, especially if you've been on T off and on.
And why thank you handsome!  ;)

Democration, looking good!  You look young but defo male.

Oganous, you pass mostly, but I agree with what others have said about your smile picture not looking as male.  It's an odd one but you do look like a young boy in the other photos.

KingKai, personally I find you difficult to tell.  I think you have a more androgynous look.  Without knowing your mannerisms or how you talk, I'd probably just be more careful and try not to use any pronouns around you to be honest.  I think long V neck tees do tend to look more feminine though, even on cis guys with obvious facial hair I think it looks feminine.

Jossef, yeah the stubble looks fake and that hat does look too big.  Even though it's a style to wear high, I'd watch out for wearing hats too big or too high as it can accentuate a smaller head.  I struggle to find any caps that fit.  I have to try on smalls to be sure they're small enough, or wear larger kids caps.  We got swag for a film I worked on and I had to ask for one of the extra smalls...which were too small for some of the women!!!  However, wearing a cap that fits is always better than a cap that's too big.  People never realise I have a small head UNTIL they try my cap on and remark on how small it is.  Up until they do that, because it fits in proportion to the size of me, they're none the wiser.

Gentle you pass really well in those pics!

Daniel - pass.  You look young but I'd still say male for sure.  You have a nice square jaw too!

Markus - pass for sure.  However, depending on your age, I wouldn't go out and show off patchy hair growth.  If you are actually quite young then ignore me but older guys wouldn't be proud of patchy growth.

Now I need advice!

Since I've been on T I've been working out loads.  Dropped to 28 inch waist, back up to almost 31inch with muscle.  Dropped 2 cup sizes...but beefed up my chest with muscle.

So now I'm just really, really, really self conscious about my chest.  I only started working out harder in the chest area because I know I'll get surgery within the next couple of months but right now, even though cup size is smaller, I feel like having anything along with that muscle growth is giving me away.

And so we come to a a couple of sweaters my surrogate Vancouver father bought me.  I do like them but they're V neck and while him and his mates (not all of whom know I'm trans) think it makes me look buff, I'm not entirely convinced and looking for feedback.  Does it makes me look good, or does it make me look female?  All I see is female but I know I'm my worst critic!  Please be 100% honest. (Ignore the questioning look, my camera made a weird sound before it took the timed photo).

Right now I've been hiding in hoodies a lot but I'm worried with having started a new job that if I keep doing that, I'm actually a bit of a banana republic type guy normally (yeah, maybe it's lame but I prefer a more dressed up look personally).  I don't want to get surgery and then draw further attention to it by completely changing style!  Lol.  If anyone has any advice based on that though, please fire away!

I use to hate wearing V necks as well for the same issue, but you know, as I've gotten more broad in the shoulders I've started to like them. I think thats what's going for you. The V neck sweater combined with a smart style makes you look older, and in your case, makes you look nothing but male.

Hey Jack :)

You totally pass! You shouldn't be self-conscious about your chest at all! Also, your shoulders are wide enough to pull off a v-neck sweater without it looking in the least feminine. Overall, looking good  ;)

And that's so funny I thought that was "I'm a bada**" face

Thanks all!

And thanks Jamison, you're an inspiration, dude! Appreciate the feedback and good to know you had similar concerns. I do like how better fitted sweaters or polos can accentuate shoulders and biceps, I think I'll love them more post surgery!

I know I can get overly worried about my chest, so I appreciate the feedback.  Since T I've found gaining muscle to be easy (I'm not saying it is easy but given how much I've always worked out it's been easy for me). So the bulk in my chest hit me like a ton of bricks. I don't want to stop because top surgery is for life and I know the better defined there, the better potential for good results, but obviously anything growing in that area is scary.

Good point on the looking older thing, too. I find dressing smarter pushes me more into being perceived to be closer to my age.  When I'm wearing the hoodies, I'm more likely to come off as a teenage boy! Lol.

I am self employed so I often work on projects for days to months at a time which means during this time I don't socialize a whole lot.
This has been one of those months, during these times I tend to let my appearance slide a lot, as you can see, I didn't take any time to smarten up my clothes, comb my hair or shave for that picture.
I just wanted to clear that up in case I came across like I was somehow proud of my facial hair, which isn't really the case, I was just too lazy to shave lol.

Thanks. Yeah, I think it will take some time to look older - I think I act pretty male behaviorally, but no clue how true that is.

Besides, having Your hair parted is very much male signature (I am from the other camp, so everytime I part my hair I am seeing that I instantly loose in terms of my passability). I hope this helps a bit :).

This does help a lot. I hadn't thought about that - I will make sure to at least ruffle the front to one side in a pseduo-part to help with passing. thanks.

Yeah - I agree about the clothes. Unfortunately, I still wear a L or sometimes an XL in shirts, so the sleeves sorta come in that length in order to make them fit elsewhere. I've really slacked on losing weight since starting testosterone, so that is something I can work on. Once I can get into a shirt size that fits my frame better, it should improve.

I'm hoping my jaw squares off too. I think that well help. I appreciate the feedback.

100% pass brother.  Good job on your workouts. I like v neck shirts and think they are quite masculinizing.

I would like to know if do I pass with my new haircut. I like it, but I'm not sure, I don't know if I'm getting paranoid or it's true, but sometimes I think I do look just like a lesbian..

I accept and appreciate advice, critics and all that kind of stuff. ;)

I think you pass for the most part, but your glasses are way too big for your face and I think it makes you look more slender / feminine.

Markus

I hate to spam, but here is a less creepy pic of me, though I am not feeling very well today.. I think it shows lol.
I have been on T for about a year or so and my appearance has changed dramatically on T and with additional weight loss.
I seem to pass, I don't generally ask people if I do. It is really difficult to look at myself objectively, so I would like to hear a few more opinions, not only if I pass, but how much I pass or how much I miss the mark.

By the way, when I was a kid/ teen, I was bullied for being -THE- ugly kid at school, but with a bit more weight loss, I don't think I will look half bad :P
And yeah, I still haven't shaved, I will get right on that.. Eventually.

I swore that I would never post a picture of myself online but I've been particularly self conscious lately and decided to just go ahead and do it. I tried to use a picture I dont think I pass very well in so here goes nothing. Tips? Criticisms?

If this is one that you don't pass well in...you have literally nothing to worry about.  I can't say I've seen many more manly looking guys on here.
Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!
  •

Markus

@ttim0324 Yeah, you have nothing to worry about, you are one of the lucky ones who pass really well, So many of us would love to be in your shoes.
  •

CursedFireDean

@ttim0324 I agree with everyone else, you look great. If I HAD to pick something that might possibly MAYBE be non-masculine I'd say your eyebrows are a bit more groomed looking than most men, but that definitely doesn't hinder your passing at all. I only even noticed because I was really looking, if I saw you on the street I wouldn't doubt at all that you were a man.
